Dr. Scott Holwerda, MD

I am very happy with Dr. Holwerda and Guilford Medical Associates. Whenever I call with concerns or email through the patient portal, I get a call back quickly. They can always fit me in if I am sick and see me the same day. I wouldn't go anywhere else for a general practitioner. I highly recommend!

I really like Dr. Holwerda, I usually see him once a year for lab work and yearly checkup. He always treats me as though he's known me for years. He makes me feel comfortable and is always friendly

My daughter has been throwing up off and on since December 2021. She has lost 15 lbs. He has not seen her one time. When we asked for him to see her, he refers her back to the PA. Although the PA has been very helpful and this is not about the PA in any way because she is trying to get to the bottom of things, He is not helping her. He only sees well patients. No sick ones. Why is he a Dr if he is only going to see well patients. What do we need him for? I also was sick and he did not see me either. When I asked for more meds they put me off for 2 weeks. When I could not get help from them, I went to the urgent care, they said, do you want to go to the hospital in an ambulance or do you want to drive. If I waited on him I would not be alive to write this review.

UNCARING PRACTICE! I feel this doctor is very incompetent and should not have a medical license. I find the whole practice terrible and uncaring about patients. I had covid in April 2021. The practice did almost nothing for me other than tell me to take vitamins. They told me things I don't believe about ivermectin. To top it off, they ran a test on me that I cannot use for the international travel I have planned for months and invested thousands of dollars in. The CDC says if you have had COVID within the last 90 days you should not be tested because you may test positive, BUT you have to prove that you tested positive for COVID within 90 days. This practice does not understand this concept! They run COVID tests that are not accepted by the CDC or airlines. I will never ever set foot anywhere near any of these "doctors" again if my life depends on it. I will tell everyone I know about how poorly I think of this practice.

PATIENTS BEWARE! I had to deal with this guy when he was on call during the weekend. He treated me with absolutely no respect and, in fact, was a complete jerk. Apparently he doesn’t believe that a patient has a right to question a medication and because I did he got on his passive-aggressive high horse. Hey doc, patients have right too and should never be treated this way!
