Avoid Dr Laker
I would not go back to Dr Laker as he is not good at pain management & is a 'codeine hater'

Knee pain and TFESI (epidural injection)
This was my 2nd TFESI in my lower back (L3) for knee pain. First about 2 years ago and got complete relief! Was told up front these procedures aren't curative but may last some number of months. Getting two years between them is fantastic. Procedure was piece of cake and Dr. Laker make you feel so comfortable and walks you through the procedure. He doesn't sedate you which really isn't needed for this - so no driver needed and can head out the door as soon as you get dressed afterward. I know as I continue to get older this won't be my last time - but will go back in a heartbeat next time the pain flares up. BTW Steadman facility is great - modern, clean, staff is friendly, and sure much easier to navigate than Anschutz.

Dr. Laker was knowledgeable, patient, kind, and committed to finding pain relief for my neck. Unfortunately, the process and his assistant Andrea made things complicated, with scheduling appointments, procedure misinformation, and slow to return messages. I found that there was too much confusion surrounding my care and mixed messages.

Saw him for a major issue in my left leg that had been diagnosed by an ER doc as an abductor muscle problem. Dr Laker questioned that and ordered an MRI which confirmed his hypothesis that it was a new problem due to my degenerating back. He was right on re the diagnosis. He ordered me a course of prednisone, which I took and it provided some relief. Dr. Laker does not know that, though, because I have not heard from him since (see below). After I received the MRI results, I texted him on MyHealthConnectioin asking for follow-up recommendations. Did not hear back from my Friday message. Sent another message on Tuesday. No reply. Called the office and was referred to someone on his staff who explained that he often takes 24-48 hours to reply and that he had been busy in clinic. I mentioned that we were already beyond 48 hours. She said she would relay the message. Now it is Friday, a full week, and I have heard absolutely nothing. To say I am upset is an understatement. My pain was

Dr. Laker's specialties caught my eyes, so I brought my CDs and test reports to him for my stubborn sciatica and shoulder pain. He and his resident doctor spent good time to go though my records thoroughly, then he explained clearly about my problems, suggested options for my treatments, and even asked his assistant to help me setting up the appointment for timely treatments. I'm very pleased by his professionalism, kindness, patience, and thoughtfulness. A great doctor to see!

I saw Dr. Laker for back/sciatic pain afte years of chiropractic care. The pain had become so bad that in desperation I changed chiropractors 3 different times in 4 months. Each time I was told I didn't have a herniated disc. After a recommendation from a friend I booked an appt with Dr. Laker and he had it diagnosed within 30 minutes. An MRI confirmed that the diagnosis was 100% exactly correct. After steroid injections and physical therapy I'm bad to feeling great and enjoying life
