I had an excellent experience. He diagnosed my issue quickly and did what was needed when the insurance company initially denied my surgery. He recognized that I am a very active person who wants to get back on the court. I am 6 weeks out from surgery and recovering splendidly.

The doctor spent 5-10 minutes with me. Told me what could be done and said he was a surgeon and I did not need him and left the room. No opportunity to ask questions or explanation of procedure. I felt like I was bothering him and he just discarded me. I went to him because of my pain and he came highly recommended but would not go back to him. I will just live with the pain first. So tired of being treated like not believed or pain not that bad. They would not want their family treated this way.

He is caring and sincere on helping his patients.

Dr. MacDonald performed surgery on my back. I would highly recommend him as well as any Surgeon in the country. Why go out of state or anywhere besides Watauga. The surgery staff at the surgery center near tri city airport was super. I could not have asked to be treated any better than they treated me .Dr. MacDonald is my Hero

After years of back pain, PT Chiropractic, and various solutions, my back pain had gotten worse with additional pain in my glute and down my leg. I was finally sent to Dr McDonald and he quickly determined the nerve root issues with MRI. I like his no nonsense approach and suggested least invasive first. Hoping for the best either Epidural Steroid, but have options if this doesn’t do it.

I had an excellent outcome from my spinal fusion surgery and would highly recommend Dr. Scott MacDonald. He is very professional and explains things thoroughly. He even called me at home to answer some additional questions I had about the surgery. I had nerve pain for months from an inflamed nerve sac caused by spine instability. I appreciated that he recommended other options to try first before going immediately to surgery for a solution. PT and an epidural steroid injection didn't help, so I opted for the surgery. After surgery in early June, the nerve pain was immediately relieved, and I was fortunate to have no post-surgery pain.....a little discomfort the first week, but no pain.

Dr. MacDonald was referred to us by one of his respected peers. He's an exceptional surgeon with an impeccable reputation as being one of the most gifted in his field! He was very knowledgeable, informative and personable. His personal nurse and his entire team were professional, caring and very easy to reach by phone and in person with questions and concerns both prior to surgery and post surgery. Dr. MacDonald's meticulous surgical skill completely fixed my spinal issue! I was in very good hands and feel extremely blessed to have had Dr. MacDonald as my surgeon!

Took the time to explain why I needed a MRI and follow up. Never once rushed thru the appointment. Always had the feeling he likes what he does and cares about his patients.

Dr MacDonald is a highly skilled surgeon. He repaired my back problems and he has the best bedside care I have ever known. I would not recommend anyone else for spine surgery.
