I love Doctor Massios and the people that work with him in the back. However, the rudeness of one of the ladies in the reception area is incomprehensible! Today was the second time she has treated me with disrespect. She doesn’t want to help. I simply wanted to pick up my contacts that had been on order. This lady is the very definition of someone who hates their job. She’s so rude and unprofessional, I’m thinking of going elsewhere for my eye care.

Took sister in with loss of peripheral vision. Dr. Massios kept wanting to do cataract surgery. Tried to tell me that her loss of peripheral vision due to cataracts, which I knew to be untrue. Tried to tell me that his initial assessment of her vision was normal - again I knew this not true. Wanted to test peripheral vision after surgery. I refused, insisted on peripheral vision test. Came back abnormal - MRI shows glioblastoma. Delay for his preferred treatment would have delayed diagnosis of very serious deadly tumor for months. His focus was on the cataract surgery (why? For money? Lack of knowledge about what loss of peripheral vision could mean?) and we had to strongly insist that he investigate the concern for which we came in. I feel there was an absolute lack of care and a strong desire to do the more remunerative procedure rather than investigate to find the cause of her vision loss. I would not trust him because I feel his focus was not in the well-being of his patient.

Although my treatment a year ago seemed good, follow up policies seemed wrong. They made an appointment for a year in advance but there was inadequate reminders. When i failed to appear for this appointment they charged me a $25 fee. I was told that there was no negotiating this fee because I missed the appointment. It seems unreasonable to fine a patient for a missed appointment made a year in advance and the only reminder was by a robot call that was unanswered.
