Dr. Scott Rinesmith, MD

I would not recommend Dr Rinesmith to my worst enemy. He was completely dismissive of anything we mentioned at all appointments and rushed us through. My husband was having 7-10 bloody trips to the bathroom daily, lost 25lbs in 3 months, we called many times and received minimal help. We had to wait 3 months to be seen (not a new patient appt either), then were quickly scheduled for a colonoscopy. He did correctly diagnose UC, but only prescribed suppositories for relief while we waited to be approved for infusions. The day after calling Dr Rinesmiths office asking if we could please have something to help during the waiting period (nearly 1 month post colonoscopy, still just waiting with no help), we ended up in the ER. We found a new doctor who immediately prescribed a steroid and got him relief in 2 days. Dr Rinesmith was completely neglectful and his office was terrible about returning calls and being responsive. All around TERRIBLE experience.

Very poor. Office doesn't return calls after literally 20 messages. Dr. Rinesmith dismisses you as a patient when you politely complain about it, justifying it because you were "rude". Who wouldn't be frustrated when you don't feel well and the doctor won't call you back? Don't recommend this doctor at all. He's dismissive and rude, and won't bother talking to you unless you're there for a "big bucks" procedure.

Terrible bedside manner. Made me feel like an inconvenience for asking questions about a procedure. His nurse practitioner does not listen or properly diagnose. Their solution is to throw more medicine at the problem, even when you tell them it’s not working. There are fantastic doctors at this practice and he is not one. Other reputable doctors in the Lima, OH area do not recommend him, which speaks volumes.

Super nice guy -does his job

caring, professional, great bed side manner. First time I saw Dr. R, I was going through kidney failure and urgently needed a GI dr, he explained procedure and prep very well. I would recommend him to all. Unfortunately, high in demand can lead to long wait times b/c he cares for each individual he treats.

Worst bedside manner I have experience in my lifetime. Rolled his eyes at me when I was crying in a hospital bed because I said I was in pain. Did a colonoscopy on me while admitted and then insulted my family while they reacted to a poor diagnosis while I was in recovery. When I asked for painkillers he told me I was going to be a narcotic addict, all I asked for was something to get the edge off so I could lay without screaming. I filed a complaint with hospital and will never see him again

Egotistic personality, very rude and had me quite sick till i had enough. Thank god i found another md. I feel alot better now. I wouldnt send a enemy to this man

Ordered bloodwork. Refused to give me results. Sent results to another doctor without my permission. Wrote bloodwork orders so insurance company won't cover. There has got to be something illegal here. He needs license revoked. I would give 0 stars if possible.
