I fractured my Ulna and Radius last May and was referred to Dr. Schulz by the urgent care center. My initial visit with him was satisfactory, but I didn’t feel like there was time to ask questions and gain clarity on what to expect during recovery. After 5 months of pt, an MRI and an EMG I have tendinitis, carpal tunnel syndrome and am still in considerable pain. I had a follow up appointment this morning and decided I will no longer put up with his arrogance and dismissive nature and am collecting my records and going to a hand surgeon who listens and cares.

Conceited and arrogant
Waited an hour. No recognition of the delay or apology. Clearly his time is more important than mine. Rushed the visit, recommended way forward based on x-rays only, did not even assess the motions of my hands or pain points. Came across as impatient to my questions with brief explanations full of unhelpful medical jargon. Did not make me want to give him my business as I could not discern if he was competent or arrogant.

Why Not The Best?
Dr. Schulze is an extremely talented and skilled hand surgeon. We are lucky to have him providing his services in our community. He is very much in demand, with more and more retired individuals making eastern Sussex Co. their home and with the added congestion they create, they are falling down, crashing into each other, and injuring themselves. I was involved in an auto accident in the autumn of last year, and in the event of having both cars totaled, I broke a bone in my hand that I very much relied upon on a regular basis. Dr. Schulze clearly explained what was needed to make the repair which was performed expertly. I have the highest confidence and regard for him, and that when my recovery is complete I will be back to normal. I am almost there, with the help of the physical therapists he recommended. I am grateful for the care he and his team have given me.

not at all, very bad service
I told the secretary I had another appointment on that morning and she told me that I had to take the first appointment given to me (on June 2) or I would forfeit any chance of the operation. I went to see the doctor that day and after his explanation I told him that I had to check my calendar (and wife) before the operation. He never informed me that I had to make a decision at that appointment. When I called the secretary to make arraignments for the operation, she said that I had to see the doc again (before the operation) Why? Don't make any sense to me. He already explained everything to me. I guess that the only reason the secretary would want a second meeting with the Doc was the she wanted to double dip on Medicare. Went to see my family doc and he gave me another hand doc to see.

Arrogant
I have never met a more arrogant person in the 50 years I've used one. He's pathetic and only looks down upon his patience. The same ones he is being paid by. He won't listen to you..you listen to him. I would rather cut my arm off the next time then see this god complexed person. I won't say Dr, it's an insult to the profession.

Worst Doctor I ever been to and I’m 77 years old.
Went to Dr. Schulze in Dec.2022 for painfull/bent fingers, worst doctor visit I ever had, staff are rude and Dr.Schulz spent 5 minutes with me after waiting 45 minutes and said go home and ice them. What a waste of time going to him, never was treated so bad.

Poor review r/t patient treatment
On 12/29/22 I went to see Dr Schultz s/p BMC hospital stay r/t cellulitis of my hand. I never got to see the MD instead seeing the PA. After the PA recommended I make a follow up appointment visit with Dr Schultz ASAP I attempted to do so with the post visit receptionist. She was EXTREMELY rude, non empathetic, curt, and quick to boldly point out that Dr Schultz had ABSOLUTELY NO available appointments until April. I said I was told to see him ASAP but that had no affect on her. I said “forget it” and she curtly replied “well bye then “. I was so upset I went out to my car and promptly called the office manager. He was apologetic and lo and behold he miraculously got an appointment for me in 2 weeks! She should not be in the medical field!!! Patients are in pain and very vulnerable!!! They should not have the added anxiety of a rude receptionist. I will not recommend this facility!!!

Unprofessional
People have said he’s a good dr., however, I disagree. A good dr doesn’t have to put you down so he can feel superior. He is the most unpleasant and down right nasty dr I have ever seen in my life. He was referred to me from the Beebe ER. Never again!

Go elsewhere
While I wish I had read these reviews prior to my appointment I am glad that they were read after I met with Dr. Schulze. I now realize that my negative experience was not personal, rather a reflection on a subpar physician. I went in as the flexion in my right wrist is approximately 20 degrees. He took x-rays then informed me that with surgery I might be able to get it to about 30 degrees. Other than that, the only thing that could be done is steroid injections if I got an MRI…. It is interesting to note, a friend who is healer in non-medicinal treatment modalities, comfortably got the extension to about 40 degrees during one ten minute session. Looks like I will be looking for a physician who did not get their degree out of a cracker jack box…. Oh, his bedside manner is horrible. I am an RN, I work full time in healthcare. In my experience I have worked alongside many great doctors. He is someone who is cold and impatient with a great need for a brush up on being a nice human/MD

Carpal Tunnel Surgery
Had surgery on both wrists. Surgeries were flawless and my problem has been corrected. Dr Schulze explained the procedure before the surgery in terms I could understand. Office staff was pleasant and my wait was minimal.

Dr Schulze is fantastic
I have seen Dr Schulze three times: trigger finger and both carpal tunnel surgeries. I felt that he was caring and competent. He is indeed one of my favorite doctors and would highly recommend him to people in need of a hand specialist.

Beware
I went to him with a fractured wrist. Worst experience with a health care provider. Cocky and arrogant are the best words to describe him. He was not interested in my concerns. He did not look at me. He rolled his eyes and looked down at the floor when my daughter asked questions. My daughter is an experienced PT and it was obvious he did like the questions asked. Staff is cold and not compassionate. My visit was not worth my time. I decided to go to PA to a shoulder to hand specialist. Southern Delaware needs adequate and better healthcare organizations.

Dr. Schulze operated on my right wrist after I totaled my car. I had both of hands bandaged, a neck brace, & a severe concussion. My first meeting with him felt cold. I was overwhelmed, scared & I cried. However, I stuck with him because what’s most important when selecting a surgeon is knowledge & skill. Dr. Schulze knows what he’s doing. I could tell he’s an expert in his field. His nurses were all very professional & lovely. Surgery went well. When I met with him after my operation I was impressed because he remembered photography means the world to me- I honestly could never tell if he was listening to me. It touched my heart that he did in fact remember me sharing how photography is my passion. After my surgery he just about gently smiled & told me I can get back out there with my camera. He does listen & he does care! Most importantly, my right wrist is back in action.

Terrible wouldn’t recommend my worst enemy to him. Only wants to do surgery. I found another who set the wrist after he did nothing for 3 days if not he wouldn’t see me for 7 more days. Too busy. Does he have any compassion?

Dr. Scott repaired my thumb at a outpatient surgery facility. He presented himself as professional, knowledgeable capable person/doctor at my first encounter with him and his staff. Happily I recovered with very little discomfort and quite quickly with additional PT. I would recommend Dr. Schulze and his team to family and friends.

I don’t know why I had such a different experience than the 5 stars. He was very matter of fact. Never makes eye contact. I felt uncomfortable leaving the office for my first appointment because he was so cold. I am new to the area and was in a lot of pain and against my better judgement went through with surgery. When he got there he said “oh there it’s you” said a few words and said “any questions” and I said I don’t think and he said “perfect” like obvious that he was happy he didn’t need to talk to me. When I came out of surgery, he said all of two sentences to my mom who drove me. He didn’t introduce himself and rattled off what had happened. We both left knowing very little as what I went into surgery for, was not what I came out with. I had to go home and Google. My care instructions say to ice for a day or two, basically initially. It says nothing about continued icing 4-6 times a day. A week after surgery the swelling has gone down but the nerve pain is intense. It feels like
