Don't miss the chance
I have been long overdue a correct diagnosis! Finally, a Dr. who can spend some time with you, listen to you and hear the medicines you have tried over the years (that didn't work), and try combinations of medicines until he gets your brain functioning as well as possible. Dr Staton is very knowledgeable about the brain and how situations throughout your life can affect your life as a whole. He will help you to be as normal a person as can be. Very satisfied and excited!Very Happy Father

Dr. Staton is an amazing and attentive psychiatrist who has been surprisingly vulnerable with his own struggles. This has assisted me tremendously as a high achiever because oftentimes people with higher level education, credentials, and accomplishments are somehow perceived as having an inability to struggle with mental health issues. Lucky for me, I have only struggled with severe anxiety, but managing the various symptoms of anxiety at a more advanced stage can be tricky. Dr. Staton is patient and asks very detailed questions similar to that of a therapist almost on order to ascertain the chemical imbalances and which medication can best combat the symptoms without alternating moods and personalities. Having struggled with severe anxiety as an attorney for my entire adult life and career his approach is almost holistic in that while several different medication combinations are required he simply treats the symptoms without attempting to “cure” the anxiety that will never go away by over prescribing or increasing the doses of the typical medications used to treat anxiety that mask the fight or flight and leave one feeling drowsy, numb, or out of character. He is careful to explore alternatives to the harsh controlled substances that could become addictive to some and prefers a targeted scientific approach to combat the chemical makeup of the brain causing the symptoms of the anxiety. He’s the only psychiatrist that I’ve ever encountered with this methodology and I appreciate having found him. Having relocated out of state my experience has been horrible with other psychiatrist that don’t take into consideration a person’s past, current circumstances, career, and goals. In order to maintain my treatment plan, I’m strongly considering moving back to Dallas where I was able to thrive under the care of Dr. Staton. He truly is the best. While he probably won’t practice forever, I hope that he begins teaching courses, writing books, and sharing his methods with other psychiatrists. His ability to recommend non-prescription alternatives are impressive and I hope to see him share with other highly accomplished over achievers that just need to realize that it’s okay to have mental health that is not okay.

My experience is such that I highly recommend passing on this doctor. He prescribed medications in a negligent way and doesn’t intervene appropriately in emergency situations. He is already reported to the board in his state.

Dr. Scott Staton
I have been seeing Dr. Staton for several years now. He has been very accessible, generous with time, offers solid, truthful and factual advice. I'm in recovery and I appreciate his deep understanding of mental illness, sympathy for loss of a loved one and helps identify what recovery/help you may need. He has shared with me some of the best affirmations suited for just me. I wish everybody could see the health benefits for oneself and close family and friends to having a therapist or psychiatrist. Dr. Staton is smart, perceptive, understanding and has compassion for the two and four legged kind.

Dr Staton is a very caring individual. He is by far the best Dr I have ever been to. He knows the brain functions better than anyone. I have been to many psychiatrists before him and I can say he is the only one who diagnosed my problems correctly. If there were 10 stars, he would get 10!

Dr. R. Scott Staton is by far the best physician I have ever been treated by without exception. He routinely goes above and beyond the call of duty and he genuinely cares about my health and the health of others I have referred to him for treatment. In over two years, he has been punctual, professional, courteous and kind. He is very good at what he does and is not in the practice just for money and prestige like many other Doctors. Can't say enough good about him in this short space.

I was referred to Dr. Staton by 2 other local Pysciatrist and my Counselor after spending 5 years with severe anxiety, ADHD, and PTSD. Dr. Staton spent a lot of one on one time with me, as well as researching my medical records and history. Not the far to common ; 30 minute session or two , followed by a quick diagnois and prescription. Great office and very responsive.

I was referred to Dr. Scott Staton in Dallas by 2 other well know Pysciatrists and my Counselor. After spending more then 5 years with sever anxiety and depression. Dr. Staton spent a long time researching my symptoms, medical records and history, along with spend a lot of personal time with me. This in contrast to most in his field that spend a half an hour and write a quick prescription. He found the root cause of my issues and was able to prescribe a custom treatment plan. He saved my life!
