As someone who works in healthcare, sees many specialists and takes children to specialists I have never been treated so terribly by a physician. He had his mind made upBefore ever walking into the room. Was uninformed of my medication, surgical, or health history. Did not want to hear my concerns and has no regard for quality of life just cares what a snapshot in timeEKG shows. Do not recommend. Will not go back

Rude, dismissive, no time to listen
Hubris on steroids. Doesn't listen. Rude. Oblivious to any and everything the patient has to say because he already KNOWS IT ALL. Or, so he thinks. Apparently, nothing in his manner has changed since the first review on this site in 2016.

Condescending
Will not do ablation since I have the Watchman. Told me that ship has sailed. Didn't even preview my chart, knew nothing about my history. Didn't believe me when I said I'm going in and out of Afib. Wants to just give me a pill. Either scared to do the procedure or unqualified because my Dr. At Mayo will do it. 3rd and last visit to see this guy.

Rudest Doctor Encountered
After rudely and repeatedly interrupting during the initial visit, refusing to listen to symptoms (including pulse rate and fainting) and belittling both the PCP and me, Halleran declared that he didn’t believe there was AFIB, as the PCP had diagnosed, and said to throw away the medication the PCP prescribed. Once the Holter monitor and EKG results returned, there were many episodes of AFIB, one lasting a couple of days. He was not only arrogant, he was completely wrong and the PCP had been correct. Halleran didn’t schedule a follow up after these tests he had ordered, only putting the results in the patient internet portal. Tried contacting his office several times to see if a follow up was needed. He called in meds. Otherwise, no call and zero follow up after the testing.

Disappointed – Oct 25, 2022

I agree with a previous review. I feel like I received a dressing down as well. Ihave been using Integris Baptist for 40 yrs but will be changing my cardiology services to another heart center. Dr Halleran is rude, belittling and certainly made me and my family feel insecure with his care toward me. I’m moving on.

I have been dealing with persistent atrial fibrillation for over 5 years. Dr. Halleran just performed my second (and last) ablation. He is incredibly skillful and extremely honest and realistic about my medical situation. He is also compassionate and encourages me to be successful in my health. Working with Dr. Halleran is a two-way street; I try to be a compliant patient. If you are willing to do your part (take medications according to directions, lose weight, exercise, etc.), Dr. Halleran will do his part.

Had an appointment with Dr. Halleran at Southwest Medical Center. I walked out of my appointment feeling like I had just received a dressing down. I was made to feel like my symptoms were fake. His bedside manner is less than desirable. I would rather suffer then see this physician again. The office staff was great.

This man is obviously very smart and knows what he's talking about. However, his bed side manner is abhorrent. You can be well educated and know your specialty inside and out but when you are outright rude and interrogate your patients they feel bullied and shut down and therefore don't feel comfortable seeking help. Be a better person and you'll be a better doctor...

Treated me in the hospital after my AFIB related stroke and earned the spot as my Cardiologist. Dr. Halleran has essentially cured me of AFIB with a single ablation.

I have never been treated so poorly by anyone as I was by Dr. Halleran. I am a well educated, responsible adult, and yet I was treated like a child. I will never refer him to anyone, nor will I seek his medical expertise again.
