Uncaring and Terrible Bedside manners
Talked bad about the hospital, the ER doctors, their equipment, and told us he is too busy to read the holter monitor, but if he gets around to it, it won't say anything useful anyway. He instilled no confidence at all. It was a terrible and useless visit--and I am sure an expensive one too. He 'knew' that those symptoms (listed at various medical websites as possible cardiac symptoms) had nothing to do with the heart. If you want a doctor that listens to your concerns choose a different place--We certainly don't recommend this doctor.

BEWARE-If I could, I would be giving Dr. Lawless a 0/5. Dr. Lawless saw my father in May after Dr. Allen took a leave of absence to go on a mission. On my father's first and only visit, Dr. Lawless came in and greeted us per norm. but became quite arrogant and very rude. He had not reviewed any medical information he had prior to seeing my father. Dr, Lawless treated my father as if he had dementia. He would not answer any questions or concerns we had, and when asked what certain meds were for, he would pipe up saying, ask your dad, he is the one who takes it...or does he take it? When asked again, he would say the medication can be taken for many things, but never once was he specific of why my father was taking it. When asked if the med was for his kidneys or for his heart, he would once again say, "If your dad is taking it, he should know what it is for." I also needed to call the pharmacy to tell the dr. what meds my father was taking and then relay that to the doctor. Dr. Lawless' MA ran an EKG before he even came in to the room. She did not help my father lay down and when my dad groaned because of his bad back and her having him lay flat, I asked for her to get him some pillows and to incline the exam table. she looked at me as if I was asking her to run a marathon. She finally went and got the extra pillows and inclined the exam table which made my dad more comfortable for the EKG. He Dr. Lawless didn't even relay the EKG results to us. By this time I was beyond frustrated about how Dr. Lawless was treating my father that I forgot to even ask. All Dr. Lawless was concerned about was why my father was not taking a specific medication, and why he was still taking Spironolactone. When told because my father's kidney specialist said not to take the one and to continue the Spironolactone due to the other decreasing kidney function even more... Dr. Lawless would dismiss that answer as he continued to ask the same question, basically calling my father and I a liar. When asked what meds my father was taking, and my father not knowing the names of the medications, he would pipe out, "How do I even know you are taking your medications if you don't know what meds you are taking?" (He said this more than 3 times.) He never once listened to concerns we had, nor did he even listen to my father's heart. He never asked my father how he was feeling, but only criticized him. I wanted to ask Dr. Lawless why he chose to became a Cardiologist because he certainly does not care about the patients he sees, nor does he properly evaluate the patient.
