Thankful I Didn't Have Parkinson's
Over a year ago I went to see Dr. Rogers due to increasing imbalance, poor gait and tremendous weakness in my legs. I do have a history of spine problems. After a perfunctory examination of my reflexes, he quickly concluded I may have Parkinson's. The brain scan he ordered appeared suspicious. He started me on medication to slow the symptoms. With no improvement, he ordered a specialized test with an extremely high rate of accuracy for diagnosing Parkinson's. My test was negative and the medication stopped. I continued to see him every 6 mos, although I'm not sure why. My subsequent visits, after ruling out Parkinson's, were a few minutes long with total disinterest on his part. Other than exercise he had nothing to suggest and seemed to dismiss my symptoms that I felt were worsening. On my last visit, I asked for orders for scans of my spine and a nerve conduction test because my fingers are getting increasingly numb. He gave me the orders. I will find another neurologist.

Dr. Rodgers has been treating my father for Parkinson's, and I am very happy with his care. He is very knowledgeable about the disease and has helped us explore treatment options. He doesn't rush us when we're in the office and answers all of our questions.
