I have seen Dr. Stadtlander, Internist, since the first week he opened practice with Providence Medical Center, Newberg, OR, some 22+ years ago. I would not want to see any other physician because he is a passionate expert, with great bedside manner. The hospital where he serves shifted to a behavioral health model several years ago which only lets him see patients for 5-10 minutes. This is not his preference but is mandated by the group he works in. Before this model was implemented he would spend 15-20 minutes with patients. He is a veteran of US Navy with expertise in Chemistry and all things pharmaceutical. I was shocked to see "3 star" ratings from others. They clearly saw a physician other than Dr. Stadtlander!

He has been my primary doctor for over 10 years and to begin with I always found him easy to talk to and thorough with check ups to do right tests or referrals. My last appointment left me feeling why did I bother going. Hadn't seen him for a year and a half yet he didn't order any blood tests. When I questioned the health of my heart he thought I was fine from tests done two years ago and he didn't bother to listen to my heart. All I got from this visit was a referral. Left me feeling that his changed, not as thorough or caring or maybe our medical system has changed him. I'm disappointed.

I am a Personal Support Worker for the disabled in Yamhill County. Dr. Stadtlander had ALWAYS treated my clients with respect and dignity. He always addresses the reason for the visit and if required, gives a referral to a specialist. He has always ended his visits with " Is there anything else you want to discuss?" My clients feel at ease talking to him about what is/might be going on. He explains things in layman's terms. If clients don't understand what he is saying they say so and he simplifies it for them. Him and all his assistants have shown nothing less than respect for my clients. Never condescending, never be littles or blames the patient. Him and his staff sure could teach all the doctors in Yamhill County on how to treat patients. They are always friendly and all my clients just adore everyone there on staff. From front desk to the folks who answer the phones.

He did no real inquiries just gave me referal, referal, referal, which then turned to chaos. The office doesnt make the referral appts for you and when you called to do so, they said they needed info from Dr. office. Was total chaos &for one suffering from possible alz it was next to impossible. When I expressed frustration I was refused any further med care & my heart meds werent renewed. I was thrown out like garbage and there is no other med care here, so dont buy into Providence Mission St

He does not ask questions and does not listen. He also is not very knowledgeable about prescription side effects that he prescribes.
