BEST DOCTOR!
My child and I both see Dr Akbari and I can’t be more appreciative and thankful for him. My son has had many medical concerns and Idk what I would have done if we didn’t have the doctor we have. I have always felt heard, acknowledged and felt we worked as a team to help my child. This doctor is literally the reason when we hit dead end roads or specialists worked against me I knew Dr Akbari would have my son’s back and get the testing done. When I felt defeated he reminded me to keep going, to not give up, no matter how many specialists wanted to gaslight me as if my child is fine. Truly Dr Akbari should be the standard of care in this industry, instead he is one that goes above and beyond. I wouldn’t want any other doctor to be our primary care.

If only I could leave 0 stars.
Where do I start? Our Newborn saw this Doctor the first 4 months of his life. At his 2 month and his 4 month appointment I brought up my baby’s head shape. I asked if he may need a cranial helmet. He was so quick to cut me off and say “he’s too young” after that visit I decided to switch…because I had read online that around 4 months is when drs decided to send in a referral. So I knew he wasn’t genuine. Maybe he got mad that I mentioned a helmet before he did? I don’t know but I would definitely not recommend him for babies. I’m glad I found a new dr for my son but now have to struggle with getting him the helmet later on (10) months, because of this DR!You have been warned! Maybe he’s better with older children and adults but not with infants!!!!!

Wish I could give NO stars
Doesn’t listen. Falsifies visit notes. Writes in notes that he is writing orders, doesn’t write orders— then blames patient when called out. Says he is the “bottom of the totem pole around here” and that he “cannot make other people do their job” in regards to his office staff not sending orders to outside providers. Lets his patients be in debilitating pain for months due to his ignorance and then does not care when it’s brought to his attention. He gets very defensive and argumentative, he DOES NOT LISTEN to his patients or their advocates. Do not see this doctor if you care about your health and want to see it improve.

Not a good listener!!! go see him.
I had him for my Dr for several years. I tried talking to him about a condition I had, but he did not want to deal with it, so after several years I decided to go see a naturopathic Dr., that's when Dr Akbari changed is whole attitude with me. I went to go see him and he just would not listen to anything I said he just went off on how a naturopathic Dr couldn't help me with his vitamins and herbs. He also told me at my last visit he would no longer be my Dr that I needed to find another. The entire visit he just mocked me and the naturopathic Dr. All Dr Akbari wanted to do was treat the small things, if it was a difficult thing he would ignore it. He told me he was not interested in learning about my rare condition and he certainly did not try to recommend anyone until that last day when he told me he would no longer be my Dr. Thank god there is other Dr's out there that truly have a better bedside manner and care about their patients. Trust me don't waste your money with him.

The best phyician I have ever had!
One of the first visits was my trigger thumb, left hand. I had been to a specialist in Portland who stuck a needle in the cartiledge of the finger and the needle was stuck. The pain was horrific! All of the suffering did not fix the problem. When I became Dr. Akbari's patient he said he could fix my thumb and that it would not hurt. He did an amazing, painless procedure and I have never had another problem with that thumb. I have osto arthritis and very stiff fingers now. I will post more on how my bad swollen joint is fixed. He is the best Dr. in Oegon to me!

Refused renewed perscription, had me kicked out
After I told him I was angry about our prior conversation, that he dropped the ball on my urgent prescription request already on file, he later complained to the directors and had me removed from Salem Clinic. I asked him to move forward during the visit and check my A1C, yet he refused to order needed blood-work or perform any other services. He over-reacted acted as if I committed a crime. I asked for a refund because i got incomplete service. I then got a letter from the board kicking me out of the whole clinic. Very Unprofessional.

I saw Dr. Akbari in urgent care. What I really appreciated about him was that he saw I was in pain, and referred me to a specialist (ENT), instead of dismissing me or just putting my on antibiotics (which is what other doctors have done, with no result). I felt like he really listened to me and was prudent enough to know my issue was outside of his own specialty.

I am happy to have Dr.Akbari as my GP. He has been thoughtful, knowledgeable, kind and caring. He listens to me and gives clear and informed responses. He performed a biopsy and was gentle, careful and skillful. I have not known him all that long, and I already trust his judgment.

If I could do negative stars I would. I wouldn't send my worst enemy to see this guy. He is consistently at least a month booked out. You can't get in to see him even if your sick. If you send a message to him or his nurse Amanda good luck on ever getting an answer. I sent a message well over a week ago and have yet to hear back, when I call they say let me see if the nurse is available to talk. Of course she is ALWAYS with a patient. The avoid you like the plague.

My first appointment with him to establish him as my Primary Care Doctor he saved my life. I couldn't swallow and was having a hard time breathing and he called what it was sent me by ambulance to the hospital and into emergency surgery. What I had was rare and he knew what it was. After being released from the hospital I saw him and he was very knowledgeable and thorough on requesting tests and not wanting to just prescribe meds to mask everything. He was easy to talk to and I trusted him.
