Dr. Shahab Shaffiey, MD

Dr. Shaffiey did the 'Nuss procedure' on my daughter for 'Pectus Excavatum' correction 3 years ago. Since the day I noticed my daughter's deformity when she turned 3 years old, I had a growing fear in me that wouldn't be calmed down with anything. When my daughter became a teen, the time had come to do her surgery. I met with multiple surgeons, but I knew Dr. Shaffiey was the perfect surgeon to get the job done. He speaks in a very calm, reassuring manner. He answered all my questions and never rushed with all her appointments. Dr. Shaffiey and his staff provided us with recommendations and tips on how to prepare for the surgery before and after. Her surgery was a success. She looked great and felt great as well. After the 3-year mark of the surgery, the bar has done its job by correcting the Pectus, and it needs to be removed. It's been a month already since the removal, and my daughter feels amazing. She can fully breathe, is out of harm's way, and cosmetically looks great.

My name is Haslem Pacheco, a 12-year-old patient. I had a 7 cm piece of wood embedded in my foot. The chief surgeon attempted to remove it but only succeeded in extracting 1 cm because he thought that was the only piece. Dr. Shahab Shaffiey then examined my foot and confidently stated he could remove the entire piece. We agreed to proceed with him. Dr. Shaffiey used local anesthesia and removed the remaining 5 cm in just 30 seconds, whereas the chief surgeon took 20 minutes to remove a smaller piece under general anesthesia. Based on this experience, I believe Dr. Shahab Shaffiey should be the chief surgeon.

Dr. Shaffiey performed surgery on my daughter and it went really well. Low wait time, kept informed, the staff was very attentive. He explained things thoroughly and answered all of my questions. My daughter liked him too. His office and staff is great. Side note- they have the best Halloween decorations, it made visiting his office so much fun.

Dr. Shaffiey is an excellent pediatric surgeon.We live in the Caribbean and our six year old son needed his gallbladder removed. This was a scary and stressful situation for our family as we had never heard of a child so young requiring this operation. Dr. Shaffiey is an amazing Dr. My son had a tumor in his adrenal gland and Dr. Shaffiey removed it. He was always very professional and thorough with all my questions. Made my son feel safe and the operation was a complete success. He made what was a scary situation a success story and I'm super grateful to him.
