Dr. Shamir Bhatt, MD

Dr Bhatt has been my doctor for most of my life. He caught my prostate cancer and scheduled the biopsy and alive now to his critical attention to lab work. With other medical issues, he's been right to the point. Sorry he's no longer in Westmont. I read several of the reviews and can't believe all the negative comments. I'm thinking there's more to people's critique. Maybe anger and a desire to get even. My speculation.

Did not follow up on care with pediatric patients. Was very difficult to get ahold of him or his staff and we were often put on hold over 20 minutes. Appointments would be incorrectly scheduled (for instance a nurse vaccine appointment would be scheduled instead for a full Dr visit. Which was a higher cost). He would not communicate with specialists for our child even when we authorized collaboration. Now we received a sudden notice he is leaving the practice but there isn't anyone else to continue our care at this location. We are very frustrated. You build a rapport and medical history- and when a child has a complex medical history, to start from scratch suddenly is very challenging. FYI you also share the space with lab and other Dr's. So if you have a high risk kid or a new baby, be prepared for a shared large waiting space and not a sick kid zone or baby only zone like more modern practices are offering.
