When your child asks for help and goes voluntarily to get help at a facility, you expect they will do everything to work with them and offer multiple approaches to therapy. Per the website, Pavilion seemed to be the right fit. It states individual and group therapies to work with each individual, and that their treatment would be individualized. Instead, they stay in a community room all day, they may have “group therapy” (this is what it is called by staff) once a day, but I was informed by the social worker that it’s psycho-education. The schedule posted on the wall showing all they’ll be doing is a complete lie, staff told me they don’t do but maybe one group thing per day. I have called daily to talk to the psychiatrist (we are on day 6) as my daughter has had bad medication reactions in the past. She asked the psychiatrist to contact me as well.
