Knowledgeable primary care doctor
Dr Pitman has been our family doctor since he came to Blue Ridge. We are very pleased with his practice. It is easy to get an appointment and we don’t have to wait long when we arrive. He explains questions and gives his recommendations. Is his personality or style of communication perfect for everyone…maybe not but he is knowledgeable and concerned. Carla at the front desk is especially helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend.

Physician is controlling and opinionated.
Physician lets you kniw that He Is The MD and not you. Doctor is impatient and seems to have no desire to listen to the patient, in many instances. Likes to control conversation and recommendations, without considering the patient's view. Most concerned of His Name of whatever is ordered to be done. I do not like to attend to a Physician office, and have to respectfully discuss with him, regarding my health.

Lacking individual care
Dr. Pitman wanted to talk more then listen. I didn’t get an opportunity to really open up. He treated me like another box to check off at the end of the day. My symptoms and experience requires recent knowledge, not outdated information. He wanted to talk about the studies he read to explain why he disagrees with my personal experience. He doesn’t have to live with negative and painful symptoms. Why is he referring to his recollection of black and white text instead of his real live patients experience. Couldn’t get a word in edgewise and had to interrupt because I wasn’t there for a lesson on outdated mainstream information.

My Husband had to cancel an appointment due to unexpected circumstances and he called the pharmacist and cancelled all his future prescriptions. Really? Is the the Doctor anybody wants?

We have been using Dr. Pittman for about 2 years now. We have been very happy with our care. His nurse, Tracy is great, but a bit frazzled and overworked some days with all of the walk ins. Our only complaint is that he is not able to carry all of the infant vaccines that our daughter needs, so we have to go to a second provider to finish her vaccines occasionally.
