Worst exam of my life. I presented with a runny/bloody nose, cough in the chest & plugged ears. She blew off all symptoms except my ears. Didn’t look in my nose, mouth or listen to my chest. Doled out antibiotics, didn’t tell me the diagnosis. Told me I was done & showed me where the door was

While visiting from Michigan I had a bad fall. Friends took me to the Emergency Clinic in Sarasota where Dr. Gavin was on call. She examined my arm/wrist, took X-rays and suggested flying home as soon as possible for emergency surgery of a fractured elbow. I did so - her diagnosis was spot on.She was everything one would want when faced with a stressful and upsetting situation. She was knowledgeable,comforting, calming and caring. I would recommend her in a heartbeat.

I went to Ms. Gavin in excruciating pain, with virtually no mobility in my shoulder (I did not have the strength to open a door. ) She ordered x-rays but did'nt even examine me. She diagnosed me with a "bruise." As I sat, wanting nothing more than relief and medical guidance, she insultingly asked me if I needed a doctor's note to get out of work -- which I did not. After telling me that movement was suggested, she told me that she would give me a sling, "if it would make me feel better. " I left with no pain medication, no sling, absolutely no medical care. Five long days later, I went to an orthopedic surgeon who diagnosed me with a separated A/C joint, prescribed three weeks of pain medication, and physical therapy three times a week for two months. My shoulder is finally showing signs of improvement. However, had I not sought a different doctor, I might well be suffering long-term permanent damage, thanks to the incompetence of this woman. NEVER USE MS.GAVIN.

Dr. Gavin was excellent. Actually the most caring physician I’ve ever encountered. She treated my 91 year mother with such care and compassion. She never acted rushed or hurried and listened to everything Mom had to say. May God bless her as she surly blessed us with the care she gave my mom.
