Best diagnostician
I have gone to Dr Stotsky since she started her practice in North Reading. I found she was very thorough and direct which many have problems with. She has managed to roll with all of the changes they’ve had in the medical community such as computer compliance and always felt I could ask her any question and get a direct answer. I don’t look for friends in doctors but results, she has never failed me. I worked in a hospital for ten years before going to her and I found her diagnostic abilities far superior than average. Like all doctors these days, she has a huge patient population to deal with, I find her amazing.

SKIP HER
Dr. Stotsky has a very odd bedside manor. She is more interested in documenting everything in the computer and barely listens after asking a question. Most things are not cut and dry when it comes to symptoms and what people are going through when they end up seeing rheumatology, so sometimes you have to explain. She doesn't seem to want the explanations. She also gave unsolicited advice about work, disability, social security; all things for which her opinion was not necessary. The over an hour wait was expected so that wasnt a huge issue, but if you have things to do don't bother making an appointment here. I want answers however her demeanor is so offputting I'm not sure its worth staying under her care.

Terrific Doctor
Went to see Dr.Stotsky after needing to go to er because I was in so much pain. She spent a lot of time with me, figuring what medicine would be best. She was very informative. Good demeaned too.

Not coming back
The lobby had old, upholstered furniture that was my first turnoff. The appointment was in the morning, but still started an hour late. I don’t think she made eye contact the entire visit. Was cold and judgmental and dismissed my concerns. No follow up from the blood tests taken.

Unfriendly demeanor
She is a skilled Doctor, however I cant get past her lack of personal warmth. Also, she appears unprepared for my appointments. She never says hello or goodbye. She doesn’t remember anything about me even though I’ve been seeing her for a few years. She relies completely on the computer. Yesterday I was exactly on time and she had just finished her previous patient. They put me in a room and I had to wait 50 mins before she came in! Sometimes waits are close to 1-1/2 to 2 hrs. You would think she could have taken a few mins to review my case before she came in but no. She even asked me how long have I been taking a medication that she prescribed. I said I didn't know & that she should know since she prescribed it. She said she thought it would be faster to just ask me since the computer was slow. But I didn't remember. What if what remembered was wrong. She just seemed unprepared and it feels like she doesn’t value my time. I am going to start looking for a new doc.

Very thorough. This is why the vast majority of negative reviews state the wait time is too long; because she is very thorough and cares about the details--rheumatology, the queen of medicine. Plus she now does general medicine as well. Some don't understand her bedside manner... she is simply very matter of fact, maybe even mor introverted but has a dry wit if you engage her in discussion and I find, very funny. Been seening her for years.

I saw Dr Stotsky for years, and so did my mother. After trying many RA drugs, including one that caused liver toxicity, making me very sick, I got a second and third opinion. Both those rheumatologists were shocked that I had been diagnosed with RA in the first place- the symptoms were wrong and the blood test negative. (I was later diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome.) I told my mother to get a second opinion (and then a third) and her doctors said the same thing! She had arthritis, but it wasn't RA. How could these providers keep pumping us full of toxic drugs, knowing that they wouldn't help? Or are they just completely incompetent and don't know the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis? PLEASE go to a different doctor.

Perhaps the worst experience visiting a doctor that I have had - ever. Lack of consideration regarding my time (2 total wait time), poor listener, covers areas that have no relation to the visit that she believes are important. She wants to expound on information she she knows even though it is not related. Strange person in general. She might be a good doctor. I could not get past the bizarre nature of her demeanor or her whacky questions. She must have ordered me 5 or 6 tests that I do not need, just to be safe. Find someone else if you can. BTW - her office staff and nurses are top of the line! Nice, efficient, knowledgeable.

I took my mother to Dr. Stotsky for an evaluation for arthritis. It was a strange experience. First of all, we waited 2 hours in the waiting room to be seen. I am not sure why as when you actually see her she does not spend quality or quantity time with you. So it does not seem that the wait could be due to her giving patients attention when you finally are seen. After actually meeting her she was not at all personable, borderline rude, and left us clearly wondering why we had come. I am in the medical profession and am very understanding of the stresses medical professionals are under so generally cut them some slack. However, I cannot recommend Dr Stotsky.

It was horrible. She doesn’t diagnose anything and is waste of time and horrid doctor and not friendly at all. I actually got diagnosed a week later at Beth Israel. She didn’t even take a look at my hands that were swollen. Don’t go here, money sucker and the worst doctor I have ever seen.

I have been a patient of Dr Stotsky's since 2006 shortly after being diagnosed with Juvenile Rheumatoid Arthritis at 16. She has been my constant companion navigating this awful disease with me. Her NPs & nursing staff are tops & all are very knowledgeable on all relevant treatments incl the newest drugs. New insurance policies made recent office visits a bit clunky but Dr Stotsky is also a patient activist fighting to change laws & stigmas that affect her patients. Friendly attentive staff. <3!

I've been with dr. Stotsky for a while now and even though I have issues just getting to the appointments she and her staff have always been very understanding and have always done everything they can to be there for their patients and if I remember correctly I think that she is also a pain specialist which was another reason why I picked her but I love the atmosphere of the office which I think is beautiful and the personalities of the staff and doctors.

Although she is thorough...I've waited 4 hours over the course of two appointments for her to walk in to the room. Clearly something needs to change about how this practice decides to run because it is unacceptable to keep people waiting that long. If you have poor health she will be very thorough. If you are moderately healthy seek someone else or you will waste a lot of time. Also the nursing staff is top notch and the most friendly you can find.

I have been going to Dr. Stotsky since I left my pediatrician along with my Mother. Every visit requires about an hour wait. When I have been sick I have never even been able to get in to the practice and have to go to the Clinic. It takes over a yr to make an appoint. for a physical and they always try to push me not to have it with Dr. Stotsky. What is the point of having her as a doctor if I can't see her for a physical or when I am sick. She has always said my sickness is due to kids.

If I could give this woman 0 stars, I would. By far the most rude, cold, & unqualified doctor I've ever had. Waited 3 HOURS to see her. When I did, I'm trying to explain to her what my problem is & her reply is "So you want medication, what?" Didn't explain anything, didn't offer any insight, didn't help calm my nerves. Another example: She asked if I smoked & I said no; she didn't believe me & proceeded to say "Well, it will show up on your blood test anyways". Entire visit was like this. AVOID

Waited 2 plus hours for her to greet me. The doctor criticized my lifestyle in a rude demeanour/mannerism. For example, she implied that I will not have a successful career path. & She explained that she cannot help being late, but, this is not true because she could monitor the lengthy amount of time she spends repeating herself, & be wary in how she delivers standoffish/slightly rude responses. Her staff is freindly/personable, but she is robotic & rude.
