Dr. Shashi Panozzo, MD

She has intellectual curiosity …she wants to get to the bottom of your issues and questions . Actually looks at your file before you enter the room. Spends time with you and shows concern and empathy . Not hesitant to refer tospecialists. I think she is great .

I had a poor experience with Dr. Panozzo. The whole experience felt rushed and she didn't listen to my concerns. When I pushed back and tried to advocate for myself she got combative and told me I hadn't told her enough info. After 20 years seeing multiple doctors at Intermed in Yarmouth this was the first truly bad experience I have had. I would avoid Dr. Panozzo if you want to be taken seriously and listened to.

The good: She seems like she wants to help. Other staff (front desk, nurses, NP) in her office seem very capable. She makes reasonable referrals to specialists. The bad: She regularly glances at the clock and stops listening and tries to rush you out if she’s running late. She gets frustrated if the issue is complicated and she can’t find an easy answer. Doesn’t want to consider more than one symptom at a time. Doesn’t seem to believe me regarding several symptoms and suggests it is anxiety and not an underlying medical cause. (I was later diagnosed by a specialist with a significant disease. )I appreciate all medical staff and the work they do in a challenging environment. If you are mostly healthy and have simple, straightforward health needs, Dr Panozzo is likely a good fit. She does seem to want to help which is appreciated.

Dr. Panozzo is a good listener and takes the time to address all of my questions. She refers me specialists when needed. I am very happy to have her as my primary care doctor.

Let her personal/professional relationship with another provider affect her treatment of me. As a result, did not consult with specialists before diagnosing pain as somatic and attempting to treat with antidepressants. Might be a great doctor if she were more open-minded and self-aware.

She consistently takes all of the time necessary to discuss my issues and to cooperatively develop a care plan. Highly recommended.

She doesn't listen to you. She gets frustrated with you when you try to talk to her about certain things and she doesn't believe you. Horrible doctor

Doing too many things, doesn't have time for patients and isn't usually available. Office visits are rushed and she has no time to listen to her patients.

She is nice but not very knowledgeable. The medical university her degree comes from is a for profit University based in the Caribbean - not exactly the best place to get a medical degree.

Excellent doctor. Takes the time to listen to patients. Very kind and caring personality. Highly recommended.
