Dr. Shawn Thomas, DO

Waited so long for surgery date, gave No pain medicine, and still in pain today....

I previously wrote a review in Feb giving one star. I'd like to change it to 5 Star. There was a technical issue with the switchboard and the doctor did not receive messages. Just recently in June I was in Tennessee and was admitted to the hospital up there ( St Thomas) Let's just say the medication the the hospital gave was not working. I called the Doctor and he did call me back ( of course he can only do what he can 600 miles away) but when I got home I had a immediate appointment

Dr Shawn is not only very experienced, but his personality and empathy drew me to him. He tells it like it is, but also has a sense of humor and warm smile. He knows this is a sensitive subject area, and treated me with empathy and respect. He explained my issue and explained the treatment options so that I could readily make the right decision for me. I Highly recommend Dr Shawn Thomas to anyone needing not only correct advice, but compassionate understanding, directives and treatment. Thanks so much Dr Shawn

I went to Dr. Thomas for a second opinion and after the appointment I did not have any doubts as to what doctor should I choose. Dr. Thomas is experienced, personable and professional.

Dr. Thomas has been my urologist for several years and has always been helpful in treating my BPH, most recently with a biopsy. He was a calming influence during the procedure and took time to call me with the results when they became known. He is very personable, easy to talk to, and eager to help.

I thought he was extremely knowledgable, friendly, and professional. We feel like we are receiving very competent care. Has a great bedside manner and sense of humor. Very empathetic.

I've been to Dr Thomas a few times dealing with prostate issues. He is always kind, respectful and concerned about my health treatments. Dr Thomas takes the time to answer my questions. He doesn't make me feel like just another "number" or a "pay day". Dr Thomas truly cares and it shows.

This was my third visit to Dr. Thomas. I am alway extremely impressed with his willingness to listen to my concerns, discuss treatments and approaches, and to get my agreement. At 63 years old, I have never had a Dr spend more time with me on each of my visits, I never feel rushed or feel that he is in a rush. I highly recommend Dr. Thomas.

I have had a few appointments with Dr. Thomas and procedures done and have had nothing but great care from him and his nursing staff and the office staff could not be nicer, one of the best Dr. offices I have ever been in...wish more Doctors and nurses and the office staff could be like this...

The Dr. seemed lost, flippant and distracted. I asked what he thought about the ultrasound. The Dr. said he didn't trust radiologists then digressed into a recent surgical foul up. After my pelvic exam, he flailed his arms way up in the air, ripping off his surgical gloves and announced, "nothing remarkable. nothing at all." Went back to face his PC telling the nurse, "she can get dressed now." The privacy curtain wouldn't reach so the nurse had to stretch it across her arms for me to dress.
