We went to TC Thompson's for my child when he had burns after pulling a cup of hot liquid off the counter on his legs. We had very long wait times despite my child being a baby, in pain, a resident came in first, gave unclear instructions to me, came back, asked some questions and then Dr. Murphy came in for 2 minutes, told me they were referring me to the burn unit and never came back again. The nurse bandaged my son's legs and we waited hours for instructions for the burn unit. My son was treated at the burn center in Nashville. Then, we received a super high bill for treatment she did not provide. She billed us for bandaging and level 4 care of his burns but the only treatment we received was the nurse bandaging his legs and a dose of Motrin after several hours of being at the hospital. I understand that she is billing for the direction she gave to others but if she charged me that much for treatment, I wish she would have provided better care.
