Dr. Shelley Oliver, MD

I saw Dr. Oliver multiple times 3 yrs ago following an MRI identifying tears to my shoulder. She informed me I only needed PT. After completing the PT & still not having strength, on repeated visits Dr. Oliver assured me I only needed to do an exercise she gave me. In spite of doing it 5x/day I still had no improvement. I finally saw another MD who assured me I was never a candidate NOT to have surgery. I wound up having arthroscopic + 2 shoulder replacement surgeries in just over a year. Brutal

Dr. Oliver did a excellent job on my shoulder surgery. Dr. Oliver explained how she was going to do the procedure, why she felt the particular procedure was best for my needs, and then what I could expect for the recovery. All went well as planned, and frankly I had minimal pain after the surgery, and I'd say never more than a 6 during the entire rehab process.. Dr. Oliver never rushed me, and always offered to answer any questions I had. I highly recommend Dr. Oliver.

A partial-knee replacement failed painfully and immediately (poor bond; shift and tilt). Doctor was arrogant, disrespectful, and continuously denied a problem, even after I assembled the x-ray evidence -- obvious at 3 & 6 months. A total-knee revision replacement by a different (competent) surgeon at 9 months confirmed the partial failure. Additional problems & discomforts were created during this time of problem denial.

Dr. Oliver spent at least a half hour on my first visit, going over my injury, my activities and treatment options. She made me feel very comfortable with the treatment option we selected and even pointed me to a web site with details of one procedure when I told her I was someone who liked to research my medical issues and feel most comfortable going into surgery knowing the details of how a procedure is preformed.
