Getting diagnosed with breast cancer can be a very scary experience, and I should know… it’s happened twice. 17 years ago I defeated breast cancer. Yet here I am at 70 years old and it’s back again for another fight. I didn’t lose then, and I’m not going to lose now!! I can say that with confidence because of my belief in Jesus Christ and the absolutely phenomenal care team that I have had the blessing of working with. Dr. Thomas is caring, attentive, professional, informative, empathetic, encouraging, and reassuring to both me and my family. She is skilled and considerate, making it evident that she cared about me as a person and not just a patient.Detailed in her examinations, she made sure not to miss a thing. She allowed us to ask every question that we had and did a wonderful job of explaining the answers in language that we could understand. Ultimately, working with her has blessed my life. God has used her hands, her heart, and her intellect to help save my life.

I am 33 and BRCA1+. After a laparoscopic surgery to remove a cyst on my ovaries earlier this year, and three breast biopsies, I'd had enough. I had originally coordinated a reconstruction/double mastectomy with my plastic surgeon team, and was going to meet Dr. Thomas for the first time for a pre-surgery introduction. She immediately made me feel at ease and even helped me to alter my plan to do a 2-stage procedure in order to get my desired results. I had been feeling anxious about some asymmetry and this solution worked to address it before the double mastectomy. Their office followed up immediately with my reconstruction team and within about a month we had carved a new path forward, one which I believe will lead to better results. I thank Dr. Thomas for giving me the information I needed in order to make the best decision for myself and my future.

From my first visit through surgery and follow up appointments, Dr. Thomas made my breast cancer experience understandable and less scary. She took adequate time to explain my condition, my options and the likely outcomes. I had confidence in her surgical knowledge and expertise right away. She was also considerate of my husband when he waited to hear of my surgery outcome. She found him and updated him on results. I’m 7 months past surgery and doing very well.

this was my 4 year followup post bilateral Mastectomy with reconstruction. We had Zoom in 2021 and 2022 due to Covid. She referred me to Dr Aisha White for reconstruction which was another reason I love Dr Thomas. They are a great team!
