Too much to say. I believe she needs much self-reflection and understanding. Her approach is harmful and not helpful. Mental health is a serious matter and needs so much more than she is able to do.

Just awful
Telehealth
Went to Dr. Gergis for anxiety, depression, and inability to focus. She completely ignored the anxiety and focus issues and just kept giving me stronger and stronger depression meds. Acted like I was a drug fiend when I asked about anxiety meds. Got mad at me at appointments when I told her the depression meds didn’t seem to be working so much that I just started lying to her and telling her I was feeling better so she wouldn’t get mad at me. Finally told her none of the meds were working and she said “well good luck with everything” and dropped me as a patient. Had to quit all my meds cold turkey, which I’m not an expert but I thought that was dangerous.

Helpful knowledgeable Terrific
I found Dr. Gergis toward the end of 2019. I am forever grateful. She is fantastic, and her office staff is incredible too. My mental health needs are ongoing. She helped me reduce the medication I was taking. She works with me to find the proper medication. Of course, I do my part. I check and track my mood, energy, anxiety, and feelings. So we can talk about what is working. I read the books she suggests. Do the therapy. We are a team. She is the one who knows all the medications and how they work. I am the one who shares my progress and mental state monitoring. Together we find the right combination that allows me to live a fulfilling life. Thank you, Dr Gergis.

Never again
Horrible. I was in a very deep denial over losing my mom She grilled me for over and hour and then told me there was nothing mentally wrong with me Picked apart my current meds and did not prescribe an antidepressants and I told her I was so sad. She then told me grief is 6 months tops and that she lost her mom at 14. Wow how dare her compare grief when I was suffering. No compassion no caring just nothing. She's disgusting how dare her ignore depression the whole time she stared at Me with crazy eyes. I often wonder why she got into the field if she's this mean. Run don't walk I found an awesome dr I am doing better. Yikes worse dr ever

First and last visit. Looked into changing doctors since my current one no longer accepts my insurance. She was rude. Challenged all of my meds. Tried to take me off ones that are working. Disagreed with my life long diagnosis. Cut me off when I was talking. I have autism and changing doctors is hard enough. I will just pay out of pocket for my current doctor.

To be very honest, she has been rude and short with me every time I have met with her or spoke with her via Telehealth the last several months. Her lack of willingness to properly treat my conditions and her horrible bedside manner, has caused me to change to a much more helpful doctor. I would not recommend her for anybody

Dr. Gergis has been a vital role in my recovery. I suffer from health anxiety and panic attacks. She has been attentive and straight forward with me, which quite frankly is exactly what I needed. I think some doctors try to comfort and nurture patients without really understanding that sometimes we need a push to be proactive in our own recovery (as hard as it may be). She gave me that “push” while reminding me that it takes time and that it is a process. I’m forever grateful to her and would highly recommend her.

I wouldn’t recommend this doctor to my worst enemy. I visited Sherry Gergis in another step toward healing after a lifetime of suffering due to sexual abuse and mental illness. In exchange for my vulnerability and candidness about my traumas, I spent 2 long hours being repeatedly victim-blamed, gaslit and infantilized. This woman lacks empathy and compassion for victims of abuse, despite her several attempts to verbally assure me that she’s an empathetic person. (Actions > words.) I’m extremely thankful for my current therapist and the work we’ve done, because had this psychiatric visit occurred a few years ago, it might have provoked me to harm myself or even take my own life. I genuinely fear for the wellbeing of her patients. The newfound awareness that my journey might again land me in the office of such a judgmental and callous “mental health professional” has heightened my distrust in the mental health field, and drastically lessened my hope for recovery.

My first and last visit. My psychiatrist had relocated to another town so I went to see Dr. Gergis. She undermined my previous diagnosis's that I take medications for. Maybe I seemed normal to her because I am on medication! Also, I don't think she even looked at the extensive patient paperwork I filled out. Had she, she would see family history of mental illness is prevalent and in my case, is compounded by a personal traumatic experience I had. I definitely need medical treatment. I felt she made light of my conditions and really didn't show concern in treating them. I am just thankful she was not my initial doctor. I felt she was distracted the entire session. This session was useless to me. Honestly, I wanted to end it early and only stayed out of respect. I will never go back to her and would never recommend her.

HORRIBLE! My psyc of 10 yrs retired. She bad-mouthed him & sad that I was on all the wrong medications & she needed to change them. Apparently she does that with everybody . She was rude from the start. I have several autoimmune diseases that she didn't want to hear anything about. I had an allergic reaction to one of the meds she prescribed and she denied being the meds she put me on. Even though 2 ER visits, my PCP & poison control said that it was. My PCP wrote her note that I was not to go on any more SSRI's. That's when she totally flipped out. She yelled at me as if it was my fault. She came completely unhinged. She try to belittle me. She would tell me something & then deny she said that. Try to tell me i was taking something I wasn't. And at one point she took the note from my PCP and ripped it up into little pieces. I thought she was bad before and this was a whole new level of crazy. She needs medication and not to be seen patients. There is more but no room in here.
