Dr. Valika is the ONLY doctor that helped me. After finally coming to see Dr. Valika after a year of medical uncertainty and anguish, he was willing to try medication—no other doctor was willing to do so—and as a result we have found something that works for me. I finally am getting my life back thanks to him. Also, he is the sweetest man!

You’ve got to ask him questions and he will answer and explain. He is a very caring Doctor and always listens to me. He is very nice

I had a thyroid US for a nodule that was being watched. I received access to the report saying that a biopsy was recommended. Dr. Valika's staff told me that he was aware of my multiple phone calls to discuss results and plan... he didn't call be back. He went on vacation for over 2 weeks. He has yet to call me. This ultrasound was over a month ago. My GYNECOLOGIST ordered the biopsy for me. Horrible care!

Extremely rude staff. Long wait times. Scheduling an appointment is nearly impossible IF you ever recieve a call back. FMLA paperwork had to be completed by a seperate office, as they continuously just never filled it out, despite numerous requests. No empathy or concern for the patients. Pushes unneccessary medications while holding life saving prescriptions for insulin and test strips hostage by continually "forgetting" to send the prescriptions to the pharmacy. And as its impossible to get ahold of staff, have fun begging for insulin samples at other hospitals or the lovely ER bill when you end up DKA. Improper billing. Charges for services never rendered. Not turning in bills to the insurance companies. I could go on, but I think you get it.

He is a horrible doctor. He has no empathy and only does the bare minimum (I think because he doesn't know what he's doing or is unwilling to try anything behind the basic blood tests.) I am in and out of the hospital and severely ill and was needing an endocrinologist to help with my health. When my labs came back normal the doctor (Dr Valika) said “well my job is done.” I said “what do you mean? I’ve been fainting and shaking and unable to work and I need help.” But when I asked what the next steps are the doctor LAUGHED at me. He LAUGHED at me when I asked him “what can we do? Please help me.” He saw me crying and pale and asking for help and laughed at me for suggesting we try something else or do further testing. He wouldn’t even show me my blood results or give me a copy when I asked for them. And he made crude jokes about my eating disorder when I declined to get on the scale for a second time - after I explained I can’t get on the scale because it’s part of my recovery.

I have been a patient for about 6 months. And, my ONLY complaint about Dr. Valika is that he is not my doctor for everything. I CANNOT say enough positive things about Dr. Valika if I tried!! He's been compassionate, thorough, a great listener and communicator, professional, yet always able to make me laugh and feel at ease. I have never had a medical provider make me feel truly cared about and not a number or paycheck in my life. No need to feel that Chicago has the best endocrinologist, he's right in Elgin!

Dr. Valika has been my endocrinologist for over 20 years. He is an excellent doctor, is warm and genuine, and cares about his patients. I like him so much I still go to see him even though his office staff sucks completely. They are marginally competent, inflexible, and it is difficult to schedule an appointment.

Dr Valika is a great DR and his bedside manner is fantastic. He takes the time to explain & answer questions. He is very patient and listens to the questions you need answered. I have never had a problem making an appointment & they always contact us with a reminder of upcoming appointments.

Well I think any doctor or office can get bad reviews! In fact I was worried when I read the reviews here and this is the reason I am writing my review! Dr Valika is a smart and has a very good bedside manner, but we are all human and have our good and bad days right? I am 1 of the most picky patients their is! I met him 2 times at Sherman Hospital and 1 time at his office and he is a awesome doc and is not the kind is listen to me and do as I say! GO SEE HIM!

I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. He does not care about his patients. Just a cattle call service. The staff is horrible! Never calls you back. He cares nothing about healing his patients. Just treats your symptoms acutely. Never trying to research to help you get better just keep you on the medication and routine labs as a vicious cycle. Endless bills!! Lied to my face when I asked for him to help me with Medical leave papers and sent the paperwork back to my company blank!!!

This is the best doctor I have ever had. Period. Kind, informed, takes time to listen and talk with you. I can't say enough nice things about this doctor. Had straightened out my newly diagnosed diabetes and my case was bad.

Dr Valikah focuses on knowing his patients and addressing their needs. He may be a little late at times, but he makes sure I am always comfortable with decisions and treatment.

I will not recommend Dr. Valika, becuse it is imposible to schedule an appointment with him, his staff is not trained to run the front office, I waist my time

I would not recommend this doctor because of the inept and disrespectful office staff.
