Dr. Shunte Jones, MD

Dr. Shunte Jones, was the only Dr. that paid attention to what was going on with my wife and did not call it anxiety. She caught the atrial flutter with in seconds of walking in the room. She was very clear and precise when she spoke and answered all questions with compassion and checked on my wife multiple times during her stay in the ER before she was admitted.

Rude & inconsiderate. Left me with a serious emergency I had to travel to another for to receive help because she didn’t find it worth her time

My brother was seen by Dr. Shunte Jones on 3/21/23. Her reputation I now know is terrible. The nurses were amazing but as soon as the doctor walked in she had a disgusting attitude. My brother has a softball size mass that appears ill defined wrapped around his superior mesenteric artery and is unable to hold any liquid or solids down. The other hospitals sent us there for him to be admitted because that hospital has the appropriate doctors. She literally told him & my sister "I am sending you home and this conversation is over!", then walked out of the room. Gave him absolutely no treatment at all. I called to make a formal complaint and the hospital apologized & asked us to bring him back so he could be admitted. SHE WAS TERRIBLE. If you hate people that much then find something else to do, go home! There is a lot more details of how she was but she should not be a doctor, this is an emergent situation & she totally mishandled the whole thing simply because she did not care. NEGLECT!

TERRIBLE!!!!!! Was very disappointed! Not compassionate at all, talked to me (which I am the patients wife) like I worked under her and extremely rude! Can’t believe Baptist Hospital would want her as an ER doctor. They all acted as though it was not an emergency and then had his Doctor admit him to the hospital! She actually at one point had the male nurse hold his legs down to try and get a catheter up him… he had just had a procedure which involved his prostrate and she just tore him up…the worst experience EVER!

A family member of mine has been with backpain for quite sometime. With a previous back surgery, lifting up her child with cerebral palsy for years, and owning her own business has taken its toll. She will never go to the doctor until the last minute. Even with a previous heart attack on her record, she explained her concern to the doctor. A very rude bedside manner was given in return. All she wanted was an answer to why she is in constant unbearable pain 24/7, or some useful feedback to help her pain journey. A terrible impression was made of how the ER allows its doctors to disrespect its patients.

Dr. Jones approached me when my father was brought to the ER unresponsive. She was polite, however her compassion left a little to be desired. I had little information on my father and her exact words to me were, “You all need to make some decisions.” I could not imagine making a decision alone, as I have other siblings. I hope that she can put herself in the place of the family member awaken in the middle of the night with the news that a loved one is being transported to the hospital(during the pandemic). I believe her bedside manner needs a little more polishing. I’m happy to say that my dad is doing so much better now that he is home and being cared for properly. I’m certain she’s a professional because we have been blessed with more time with our dad. Thankfully, God was not ready for him.
