Dr. Shyamala Miryala, MD

The visit was for a loved one (elderly family member) in ICU. Dr. Miryala was all business. She was focused on solving the problem. I can see that how she conveys information may seem rude, but in paying close attention to what she is saying. She’s telling you what she thinks and explains why. She’s a very smart lady. I believed what she told me. She takes her job very seriously and I was glad she was caring for my family member.

Shyamala Miryala forgot a critical prescription, blood thinners, upon hospital discharge, resulting in a pulmonary embolism, a second hospitalization and long term recovery. She did remember the prescription hours later, faxed it over to the pharmacy but never phoned us. Miryala felt it was the pharmacy's job to alert us to this prescription via the automated call service. Unfortunately, the automated service was not working that evening. This was one of three medication errors Miryala made during the
