Dr. Shylaja Arya, DPM

Seen again today for my regular 3-month diabetic follow-up. Since I’ve recently had a good friend who had to have a foot amputated, I take my podiatry appointments very seriously. Dr. Arya throughly inspects my feet for any potential problems. When I mentioned that my back surgeon told me I was ready to begin physical therapy from lower back surgery six weeks ago, but that I was having a problem finding a good physical therapist I was comfortable with, she referred me to two she felt highly of. She IS the consummate professional! Seen again today for my regular diabetic follow up, and once again she provided to excellent professional care I’ve come to expect. She reviewed my sugar levels and explained the affect they can have on my neuropathy. She also provided a recommendation of stretching exercises for my feet to help with a problem I shared with her. As I previously stated, patient, thorough and professional. I wish I had found her years ago. Thanks to my Endocrinologist

I have had chronic heel pain and foot pain for over 10 years. I have been to several Podiatrists in that time and I will say without any reservation that Dr. Arya is THE BEST Podiatrist I have ever been to. She performed a through examination of my foot, including an ultrasound and X-ray where I learned that I have a condition that will require surgery. FINALLY I hope to have this pain that has dominated my life resolved. She really knows what she is doing and took a lot of time to explain things to me and tell me what my options are. She also prescribed medicine that helped my pain and other problems I was having with my feet. Seriously she is fantastic. I can tell you if you have suffered with foot pain for a long time give her an opportunity to see if she can help. She is very pleasant and non-judgmental and understanding. All the other staff are great too.

I'm a busy runner who hates slowing own, so when Dr. Arya told me I broke my heel, I couldn't help but cry. She is empathetic and has good bedside manner. She worked with me to make a fitness plan without straining my heel and listened to me. Since she listened to me, I listened to her... I healed in the time frame she told me I would. I'm back running races like she said I would too. She treated me with respect. She's great.
