I always take reviews with a grain of salt, everyone has their own personal opion & experience with each particular doctor. I rarely write reviews for that reason but this expeirence I just had to share. Dr. Morrison was horrible as doctor and human, I thankfully didn't have surgery with him, only multiple procedures. I had heard nothing but good things about him & when he wanted to take over my complicated from my gastro, I was happy. I had a major colon injury & Dr. Morrison was willing to work with me & help me get better. My husband & I liked Morrison & trusted him. He was willing to try things to avoid possible surgery. I went with his ideas, he seemed like a great surgeon & convinced us he was the only one who could do my surgery properly (NOT TRUE!). While he probably meant well, I think he was in way over his head & also got pressure from the other surgeons in his practice whom he said I was "bothering" by calling after hours because of extreme pain and impaction while Morrison was away. He got mad that I wanted a rectal stent he placed removed (it was very dangerous what he did to me) ASAP because I was in SEVERE PAIN & I didn't go to the bathroom for 7 days. I begged to have it removed. When I got to my appointment for the removal he had just returned from vacation, I was told he came in after hours for me & wasn't happy about it. I walked in & all of a sudden out of nowhere he said "I'm not doing surgery on you, you're too hard to please, & I don't want to treat you anymore. I was in so much pain & had spent months getting to this point w/ him. He got up & went a little crazy on us (my Mom was there too). My Mom & I were in shock & not sure where this was all coming from. We hadn't said one word to him yet & I hadn't spoken to him personally for a week, the last time we spoke everything was fine. He took me into an exam room & literally ripped this stent out of my rectum w/o giving me anything for pain (originally it was supposed to come out under anesthesia as that's how it was put in). I was crying, it hurt so bad. He didn't care. After the removal, I asked if we could discuss why he was dropping me as a patient? He came back into the exam room, sat on the counter w/ legs and arms crossed, got very stern with me & went on accusing me of possibly suing him (not sure where he got that from, possibly his associates is my guess), accused me of asking too many questions (yeah well if you are suggesting cutting out 12" of my colon, I am going to ask a lot of questions!), doing my own research online for my condition (who doesn't and why wouldn't you), not trusting him (I did fully), not allowing him to do the surgery he wanted to do (not true, only once I asked if he did Laparoscopic surgery for this so I guess that's where he got that crazy thought from). I explained to him I was sorry if I was being "too difficult" if I asked too many questions & reassured him I trusted him & so did my husband. I said please don't do this to me, I'm just scared. He said too bad, "you're on your own", "Go back to NY (where I an from originally) to be treated if need be". I am a human & had been through SO MUCH up to this point (what lead me to this point was I was a colon infection, was intubated & cardiac arrest 2x , revived & blood flow was cut off to my colon). He went about dropping a patient he didn't feel comfortable doing surgery on in the worst, most inappropriate, unprofessional & cruel way, it caused me a lot of distress & I had to throw months of his help in the garbage & start over. To make it worse, he is friendly w/ my gastro & he contacted him after this ordeal. I contacted my gastro Dr. Tupper Iseman & he suddenly wouldn't see me. I was in serious distress & pain & had nowhere to turn. I was scheduled for a colonoscopy two days later (which we spent over a month prepping for & doing the stent for) & Morrison canceled it w/no alternative for me, left me to fend for myself. Things happen for a reason & I didn't have surgery w/ Morrison for a reason, probably saving myself from a major health disaster down the road. A few weeks of scrambling to find new doctors & being referred and scheduled, not being treated by anyone & major pain & issues (the stent made things a lot worse), I finally found one of the top colorectal surgeons on the East Coast & he is treating me the proper way, thank GOD!

Excellent Physician/Care/Compassion for patients!
Dr. Morrison made a very uncomfortable surgery/recovery the best experience it could have been for me. Something I had put off and dreaded for a long time turned out to be a better experience than I expected. He answered questions and gave all the details that I needed and I felt very comfortable and confident with him. I loved his kind, gentle demeanor and his "old school" way of making me know that everything would be okay. I'm so glad I was referred to him and would not hesitate to see him again if I ever needed anything! Love him and his practice! Thank you so much!

Excellent surgeon/physician outstanding care
Dr Morrison and staff are excellent. I was referred to Dr. Morrison with a very scary situation and from the moment I walked into his office I was treated with professionalism, respect, and caring attitudes. Dr Morrison is very intelligent, very humble, and really works hard to prepare the best plan for your situation. He treats you in a way that he’d expect his own family to be treated. He explains everything thoroughly and encourages questions. He also does not pull any punches, he will tell you like it is. I never felt rushed during my visits. I was checked on every day during my hospital stay. My after care has been excellent. I’ve had difficulties and he’s taken time to discuss them to look at my very detailed charting and plan new strategy’s with me. I have felt very safe and confident that I have received the best care possible. I have great admiration and respect for Dr Morrison and I hope he has trained many interns to practice medicine as he does. Thank you!!

Excellent Surgeon
I first met Dr. Morrison after being referred to him to remove a precancerous tumor. Dr. Morrison is one of the most thorough and professional doctors I have ever met. He never makes you feel rushed and takes time to explain everything and also his drawings and easy to understand explanations during a very scary time. He also makes sure his instructions are in writing. I was also impressed with his staff. From the minute you walk in the door to leaving, there is very little wait time on appointments which tells me that my time is important too! During my stays in the hospital, Dr. Morrison always checked on me early with a follow up with his nurse, Ms. Abbie who was an angel as she took the time to listen. It is very convenient that his office is in the hospital which makes it easier to get blood drawn and scans completed. If you need any type of colorectal surgery, I would highly recommend Dr. Morrison because he takes his profession very serious and cares greatly about his patients

My hero!
I was diagnosed with Stage 3 colorectal cancer in November 2021. I was referred to Dr. Morrison who planned exactly what my treatment would entail from the beginning to end. He was clear and direct and answered all of my questions and concerns throughout my entire treatment. In July 2022, he performed the state of the art robotic LAR surgery which is the least invasive surgery available. The surgery went perfectly and I was discharged from the hospital just 2 days later. When I got home, I suffered a minor allergic reaction to the pain medication he prescribed to me. I called before hours the next morning and left a message with the answering service expecting a nurse to return my call. Dr. Morrison himself called me back within the hour and prescribed me a different pain medication. His level of attention and care is superb. I will always be grateful to Dr. Morrison for saving my life. He will always be my hero!

I had a robotic colectomy. 2 tumors and about 1 foot of colon were removed. I was hospitalized for 2 days. Post surgery I was up and walking at 4 hrs. Remarkedly, I never have had any pain. Dr Morrison and his team were consummate professionals and I would recommend them unconditionally. I cant emphasize this enough. During my visit, I walked the halls frequently(4-5 times daily) and never experienced any pain, only post-op abdominal discomfort which was easily manageable. The nursing staff was professional and friendly and I never lacked for proper care. Dr. Morrison visited daily and answered any questions I had and was consistently honest about how I was progressing, which included timeframes for recovery and eventual pathology lab reports for potential tumor malignancy. When the labs results returned he called within a few hours and told me there was no cancer. During subsequent office visit Dr. Morrison told me I had done well and released me from his care. thank you all

The unfortunate experience of having to have a hemorrhoid operation was made a much better situation by the care of Dr Morrison and his staff. Dr Morrison was very open to hearing my concerns and assuring me he would do his best to get me the best care and surgery he could possibly provide. Total success!

I would recommend Dr. Sidney Morrison to absolutely anyone in need of a colorectal surgeon. From my first office visit, when I was warmly and professionally greeted at reception, to the friendly and very knowledgeable team member who did my initial assessment prior to seeing Dr. Morrison, to the surgery scheduler who gave me everything I needed to know before and after the planned procedure, to the kind person at checkout who handled her job with efficiency and kindness, my experience with that office was superior. Dr. Morrison has a tremendous reputation among his patients, and among his peers. I now see why. He made sure to inform me of what to expect, answered any and all questions I had, and always with an encouraging smile and gentle spirit.

Dr. Morrison is the BEST surgeon in town. He is very upfront and serious about his work, but at the same time he is extremely kind and compassionate. I recently underwent a right Colectomy (I was terrified)! Dr. Morrison reassured me and I must say his skill as a colorectal surgeon is incomparable. I will never forget his kindness as I was in the hospital after surgery. He will always be at the top of my list as one of my favorite people. His entire staff was very pleasant and reassuring and I would recommend Dr. Sidney Morrison and his staff to anyone facing this type of surgery.

Dr. Syd Morrison is an outstanding medical doctor, surgeon and person who puts you at ease and then quickly gets down to business. I have had two surgeries performed by Dr. Morrison in the past 12 years and both times I was completely pleased with the outcome. My only regret was that I waited so long for the first visit because of a previous bad experience with another doctor. If you are having problems in this area of specialization, I highly recommend Dr. Morrison and his staff.

What an incredible doctor! Dr. Morrison presented the facts, provided his expert opinion, but never pushed his recommendations as the only way. Instead he supported me through the process of making my own decision. His detailed description of the surgery, and what to expect post-operatively was always on point. He is a brilliant surgeon, mixed with compassion and care. This is also evident in his office team, that work seamlessly to insure that every detail is handled, as well as his team of young and fellow surgeons. Working with Dr. Morrison made a challenging experience much less difficult.

Had my annual review appointment on July 13,2020. Excellent review very thoroughly done and all staff and Dr. Morrison really care about his patiences. Met the doctor back in 1213/14 when another doctor referred him to me to correct the wrong surgical path of my heath he left me in. He agreed to take me as a patient and I’m and others were happy as we felt his knowledge and background in the Colorectal field I was told he was the best in Columbia!! It took a couple years and a few more surgery’s but he saved me and mad my later years of life great to be living. He is outstanding doctor I recommend him too everyone who needed his services. I’m so glad my life crossed path with Dr. Morrison. Thank you Dr. Morrison for your services, your knowledge and background in your field. I love Dr. Morrison. He is very caring, compassionate, knowledgeable and can explain in detail what his plans are the surgery his gonna to perform. He even made a drawing for me about my surgery. And his staff is awesome as well! I never felt rushed, like he needed to get to his next patient. And my stay at the hospital was great as well. Dr. Morrison always checked on me by 8am every morning. I wanted to stay in my town for my surgeries, but my oncologist said, oh no, you have to go to Dr. Morrison! He is the best. And he certainly is the best! wish I could give him 1000 stars!

I absolutely adore this doctor. I was diagnosed with colon cancer stage 3 in early March. It hit me like a ton of bricks! This was the same type of cancer that caused my sisters passing back in 2006. I was a total mess. I know I was led to Dr. Morrison by God on High. This man was everything I asked God to provide in a doctor to care for me during the surgery and during my aftercare. He was extremely knowledgeable, caring, compassionate and the level of professionalism was bar none. Dr. Morrison is the best! He removed the mass, and I am doing great!

I started seeing Dr. Morrison preparing for my reversal Ostomy surgery in April 2019. We found Dr. Morrison on line after reading his incredible reviews. The first time I meet Dr. Morrison in person I could tell he was somebody I could trust with his caring and, kindness. No one likes going to a doctor and especially a surgeon however, he helped this chicken become a proud rooster. Dr. Morrison did everything in his power to help me to relax being at his doctors office, being in the hospital, and preparing for surgery . The star scale only goes to 5 but for me Dr. Morrison is an Eleven. ***********
