Dr. Simon Prendiville, MD

I should’ve known better when my primary care physician wouldn’t take me seriously with the health concern I presented that I wouldn’t be taken seriously by this doctor either. I was rushed through my visit and after discussing treatment/proceeding with my symptoms, I was given a half-hearted solution that didn’t even take into account the issues I presented with. Meanwhile, I’ve been reading articles that prove GI & dyspnea (breathlessness) do have correlation. Not sure how long it’s been since Dr. Prendiville actually did new research in his field, but he had “never heard of this.” If you want a doctor who thinks outside of the box, do not go to see Dr. Prendiville or Novant Health physicians for that matter. I’ll be looking elsewhere for my solution with a doctor that actually cares about the end results of their patient.

If you enjoy hold music, being your own doctor and never getting a call answered, or medications sent properly then prendiville is great! Prendiville would be better as a veterinarian dealing with animals where communication skills isnt needed with the patients. Everyone dislikes dealing with the process of medications being sent to the pharmacy and so does Dr. prendiville! He dislikes them so much that he doesnt even send the prescription over and I don't blame him! I'm sure it's a lot easier for this doctor to not send prescriptions or answer patients phone calls during working hours. I'm sure its also really annoying to have patients follow up after procedures or to ask about a medication never being sent, and thankfully Dr. Prendiville has an amazing voicemail where your calls will be received and never returned! Playing hard to get is a very fun and new quality I have never seen in a doctor before.

Had 2 colonoscopies and a Fistula was missed both times. Was told I had colitis and was taking expensive medicine and receiving IV infusions. Another doctor looked at the same pictures and saw that I had a colevical fistula. Had to have major surgery both on colon and bladder to repair the damage. Suffered and was treated for 18 months for something I did not have and this office is still billing me for balance of the infusions I did not need. Do not trust this doctor.

Office visit and procedure was very efficient. The professionalism made me feel very confident about the care that I received.

Dr. Prendiville is courteous , friendly , easy to talk with , and answers all of my questions. He shows concern for any medical issues that I may want to discuss.

Dr Prendiville is the best, hands down. Very sympathetic and offered several solutions to my problem. Thank you, Dr. Prendiville.

I would not recommend this Dr. for my dog. my husband was in the hospital with a stroke but was eating & drinking while in CCU. After he was moved to a regular room , 11 days following his stroke Dr. PRENDIVILLE comes in and tells me he needs a feeding tube. I asked for a second opinion from our established gastroenterologist. I never got a second opinion. Two days later he comes back and says my husband can’t leave the hospital with and NG tube and he wasn’t leaving without a peg tube. The tube was placed on Wednesday and on Thursday he was released to rehab. On Friday morning the speech therapist from Rehab called me at 8:30 am and asked me what he was doing with a feeding tube. Another Barium Swallow was done the following Monday and he was placed back on regular diet. Our Gastroenterologist removed the tube 6 weeks later and stated he should have never had it. My husband went through a lot of undue stress because of this tube.

The appointment was excellent….on time, not rushed, good explanations. We have been patients of Dr Prenderville for a long time. Staff is knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommend this group.

Went to their Charlotte office for my Colonoscopy last week and they were excellent. I was in and out in less than 2.5 hours. The entire staff took care of me from the paperwork I completed in advance, and through the entire procedure. Great Team.

I wasn't sure at first as I've really struggled to resolve my abdominal swelling and pain and really desperate for help as this has disabled me much longer than I ever expected. Had horrible experiences from doctors when medications just weren't working. I actually was shocked as I thought I would be not heard again, but I think sometimes it's very hard to communicate that you know something is really going wrong and be heard and Dr. Prendiville heard me so that's really all I can ask. I found the nurses here very kind and it's been a better experience then I've had in awhile, don't know if I will get resolve but a little more hopeful now. Found this office professional and they really were handling the whole corona virus situation really well, would recommend this office. Feel Dr. Prendiville ran some good testing to check off some more boxes. Thank you!

I've been a Charlotte Gastro patient for years in the Lake area. My father just moved to Charlotte and became a patient of Dr. Prendiville who has provided excellent care! I thought I was lucky with the lake offices but the care and customer service by the staff at Randolph is top notch as well!

My experience with Dr. Prendiville is positive. He performed a radio frequency ablation for my Barrett esophagus. It was successful but went home with horrible pain and couldn't get in touch with anyone to get me something to help. Eventually his nurse called me back and said my pain medication is already at my pharmacy, however it was the one I am allergic to so for few days just dealt with pain because no one else was willing to correct it.

Dr. Prendiville was dismissive and patronizing. He was unwilling to search for the source of my daughter's ailment and instead seemed satisfied that it was all in her head. His attitude was "if I had a dime for everyone who complains of similar symptoms......". The visit was traumatic for my 19yo daughter who has been struggling for months. In fact, when we inquired about a follow up with another provider, our call went unreturned. We will not return to this practice.

I've been seeing Dr. Prendiville since I moved to Charlotte in 2005 and my Gastro doc and he has been phenomenal! My daughter is experiencing issues and I'm referring her to him. He is kind, patient and does everything he can to make sure all bases are covered with regard to patient care!
