Dr. Sonia Diaz Perez, MD

Dr. Sonia Perez's secretary has to be the most dismissive, lacking empathy and an attitude of superiority I've ever met. The fact that the doctor employs someone like that and does not do something about it despite the multiple complaints of so many patients, is a reflection of the doctor herself, because of her inaction in this regard. For future patients, I recommend reconsidering their provider selection unless they want to spend months at the mercy of such an insensitive, apathetic and indifferent being.

I came to her on the recommendation of a friend, it is my first pregnancy and I have come to her with questions about pain that they have given me and she is not very professional, apart from the fact that she never answers my questions directly. I have come to her with some concerns and she is very unempathetic, the first and last time I see her for a pregnancy, unfortunately I can no longer change myself because of the length of my pregnancy I have.

When I made my appointment, the secretary told me repeatedly to arrive at 1:00pm on the dot. When she called me again to confirm my appointment, she told me to, again, arrive at 1:00pm. On the day of the appointment, I knocked on the door at exactly 1:00pm. Secretary told me to sign my name and wait until 1:00pm. I told her it was already 1:00pm and she proceeded to tell me that the staff wasn’t there yet and to wait besides the elevator. I said “hey, maybe they are having lunch?” So I went outside to wait but there was no place to sit so I just walked and walked for 1 1/2. When I passed in front of the doctor’s office, there was people inside that went after me. Why wasn’t I called to sit in the air conditioner and in a comfortable chair? Especially after I was responsable and arrived at the time that was hammered to me. After 2 hours waiting, I left. Why did she told me to arrive at 1:00pm if they went to lunch at that hour? I myself hadn’t had lunch yet because of the rush.

I have been visiting the doctor for about three years now. I think she explains things well and is gentle, but sometimes she doesn’t let me speak or explain things fully when she is already drawing conclusions. I also don’t like her secretary very much. She is passive aggressive, sometimes nice and sometimes rude/sarcastic. I always have to call more than three times for her to pick up also. They give out appointments at 1:00 p.m. and they finish their break at that time, which then your appointments ends up being at almost 2:00 p.m. I leave this comment so you can have a more realistic idea of what you should be expecting here.

She has been my gynecologist since 2010 doctor since I moved from Ponce. She is excellent, professional, very careful and gentle. My best friend also sees her and is super happy. She goes above her duties and if she finds something, no matter how little searches and bingo finds out whats wrong. Other doctors just don't bother, humble and easy to speak and hears you, without watching the clock. Closed eyes I definitely recommend her to anyone.
