After my mother's diagnosis of Autoimmune Encephalitis, my sister and I (who are both practicing physicians) sought out Dr. Najjar for consultation. We, of course, waited several months for an appointment and cancelled our clinical schedules to join our mother for her evaluation. However, within a couple days of the appointment, we received a call cancelling the appointment. We were very disappointed given our mother's failing condition, but actively accepted a reschedule several weeks later. However, this appointment too was cancelled on short notice, leaving us again to schedule for a month later. Again, after waiting yet another month, this too was cancelled within days of the appointment. In all of my days in the clinical practice of medicine I have never witnessed such blatant disregard for the needs of patients and families. Dr Najjar's behavior is truly an embarrassment to the practice of medicine and displays a shameful lack of responsibility to people who are suffering.

He is not only brilliant and will properly diagnose when others have failed, he also has a heart of gold. You want no other doctor by your side for a complex autoimmune condition. He said "This too shall pass". I know it will.

with the office manager, they neglected to tell us that office policy for late appointments allows for a 15 minute grace period and the appointment will be canceled!?!?! This is the most disgusting practice I have ever had to deal with! There is no compassion and zero empathy!!! Horrifying!!!!

I have been Dr Najjar patient 15 years while he was at NYU Langone. Ever since he transferred to Lenox Hill he abandoned his old patients . Not that it was impossible to get appointment with him anymore but his staff is very rude, unprofessional and most of all NEGLIGENT. I was left without my medication for weeks . Despise my 20 calls to his office They neglected to call back pharmacy and refill my epilepsy meds. I had several seizures and was forced to go to the Emergency to get help.
