Could definitely use some improvement
Both of my parents have had plantar fasciitis. When I started having similar symptoms, went in and told him what I thought it was. He told me he would give me a cortisol shot (injectable steroid) I said due to family history with said injection(lasted two weeks for my father and he and my mother had better success with orthotics) that I’d prefer to go that route. Was given a brace and told to come back when I was ready to get the shot. I was charged for things I never received in the room including the injection and surgery from my first appointment. Didn’t feel like he listened to me at all and brushed me off. Went back almost 3 years later because I couldn’t walk at all. Still swore by injection. On another drs recommendation I got X-rays which showed heel spurs and bone spurs in my ankle. Then I got an MRI which revealed too much scar tissue to see anything. Upon surgery was told that tendons had to be reattached and ligaments were shredded. Really wish he had been more attentive.

Excellent Doctor with the heart of a teacher
I was so grateful for this visit today. Dr. Heninger has treated my children's ingrown toenails in the past. I'm currently dealing with a plantar plate tear and saw a different foot and ankle surgeon last month and I was pretty bummed about the prognosis he gave me (plus didn't spend more than 5 minutes with me and was in a hurry.) I saw Dr. Heninger as a second opinion today. He actually talked to be about why my issues were occurring. He helped me with some measures to help heal the issue and stop further progression and answered my questions about a possible future surgery. I'm feeling so much better and FAR more informed after seeing him.

Initial appointment was OK, but rushed. 2nd and 3rd appointments weren't good. He rushed in at last appointment and said I needed fusion surgery. He even mentioned that is where he makes his money. Went to another podiatrist in town for a 2nd opinion and he said no surgery was needed and I also learned my initial diagnosis with this doctor was wrong. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR OR CLINIC - There's better doctors in town!

Trusted reviewer and patient – Feb 02, 2021

I loved my 1st visit with Dr. Heninger. Staff was attentive and kind as was He. 2nd visit was a polar opposite experience Staff acted like I didn't exist. Dr wasn't even in the room this time he was hanging out in the hallway during my appointment He had his Medical Assistant do everything procedure wise! I want a Dr. involved in my Medical care doing the work alongside his staff! and consult with if I have questions And I FOUND one that is not him. And I had to wait an 1 hr. and 15 Minutes to be seen Never Again! I wanted to walk out so bad!!! The Dr. is a nice person but needs to be more involved in patient care and the management of his business for my taste. And the MA, Dr. and staff need to care always not just when your a 1st time Patient!
