Office visit
Just took my wife there to discuss some troubling news from a recent CT scan. Dr. Purighalla was excellent. He discussed the diagnosis in a very easy to understand manor. Very casual atmosphere in his office. Would definitely recommend Dr. Purighalla to anyone needing a neurosurgeon.

Most unprofessional doctor ever!
He does not even deserve 1 star. I will be filing a complaint against him, not only with Genesis Health, but also with the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons. My doctor ordered an MRI which showed extensive damage in my back. She sent a referral over to this doctor for me to be evaluated. I went for the consultation with my husband. I explained to the doctor where/when the pain started, length, reason, etc... ( car accident in 8/2016). I was told I needed surgery and given a fast explanation of what was to be done. I felt this doctor was lacking in a personable relation anyways, but he is the expert and my case is pretty black and white. I went to see him for the second time for: 1) to discuss the process of surgery/recovery so I could confirm I had the correct understanding. 2) What timeframe we were looking at so I could plan. 3) My pain doctor viewed the same MRI as Dr. Purighalla and noted that I had a multitude of problems in my back...one of which was on my th

Dr. Purighalla was very patient and provided all the details about my husband’s condition. He reviewed all the reports and guided us in the right direction. He is a really good doctor and is extremely empathatic.

Office had very unprofessional vibe and Mr. P was arrogant and condescending with the issue I came in for. He didn't seem knowledgeable at all. He basically laughed me out of there within 5 minutes without providing any legitimate explanation or compassion. By far, this was the very worst interaction I've ever had with a medical "professional". Sketchy deal.

I was able to get in to see the Dr. in a week. We had a consultation and everything was explained in detail. The films were gone over in detail and he explained all options to me. I have never had back issues before, but this Doctors name came up often with good comments from many. I hope that I can say the same thing, after my procedure.

This doctor is very nice and very informative. He takes his time with you and answers questions. I never feel rushed at an appointment. Out of the 3 neurosurgeons I have seen, he is the only one who has not wanted to operate on me immediately. In fact he advised against it at this time. He has offered other options for my problem which have since bought me another 2 years so far. I disagree with the other review that says he does surgery on everyone who walks in.

Dr. Purighalla was amazing detailed my condition and got me in for surgery right away. I had a c6-c7 fusion and was back to work 5 days later with no physical therapy and feel great! Would recommend him highly!

I had back surgery 9 years ago and can't say enough about Dr. Purighalla.. He does not do surgery on everyone as someone else has stated. In fact I know of at least 3 people who went to him and he told them he could not help them. I have recommended him to family and friends and can honestly say if I ever needed back surgery again, he would be my only choice. I have had a more active life because of the back surgery I had.

Although Dr Purighala is very kind hearted his surgical technic and outcomes are very poor. He operates on everyone that comes through the door regardless of the severity of the problem. If you just want surgery and he's your last resort I would not suggest him as your surgeon. I along with multiple other people I know had surgery from him and his work redone by more skilled surgeons across the river.
