Dr. Beder was my son’s pediatric cardiologist following his open heart surgery in November of 1999. My son had coarctation of the aorta and underwent emergency surgery to patch repair his coarctation. Dr. Beder was so thorough in his examinations and always sent a follow-up letter after each appointment explaining everything in detail. We moved to South Carolina in 2005 and I was in tears over the thought of going to anyone other than Dr. Beder. He told me that the Medical University of SC had excellent pediatric cardiologists and that is where my son has gone to ever since. Although we are pleased with the level of care rendered at MUSC, it doesn’t even compare to Dr. Beder’s thorough examinations. We miss him! Thank you Dr. Beder. You and all the fine staff at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC will forever hold a special place in my heart Thank you for saving my son’s life. He is now 20 years old, a straight A student in college and leads a very productive life
