He needed to retire 20 years ago. Will not explain what he is going to do. Will do painful treatment in office and give you no warning. Worst bedside manner I have ever experienced.

I was referred to Dr. Chmel by my neurologist and my oncologist. They claimed that he was the best, and they were right. I saw him in his office and he was very clear of what needed to be done. He explained everything very well and with details. He performed a bilateral temporal biopsy at the Jewish Hospital. All of the hospital staff, as well as his office staff were great. Dr. Chmel is a quiet, soft spoken person, but knows his business well. A true gentleman and better physician.

1.5 hour wait to see the first time. Was told that by Dr. Chmiel that he would call with results so I did not have to come back in. Made me make another appointment, took my money, waited another hour, then when I got back to the room he told me he was sending me to another specialist. Waste of time and money, and they would not consider refunding my office visit. Even went so far as to send a letter and backdate it to try and cover their tails.

Have seen him a few times, he has little to no bedside manner, but is extremely smart. He figured out what was wrong with my ears with one look when it's taken other doctors years.

While it may sometimes to get an appointment quickly with Dr. Chimel, there is a reason: he is the best! I have been going to Dr. Chmiel since I was about 6 months old and I have had five sets of tubes and adenoids removed, all by him. He is the only ENT Doctor in Louisville that I will go see. He has always been friendly and, most importantly, he knows his stuff!

It was my 1st visit. I felt like I was just a number. He rushed through with me, occasionally glancing at my paperwork. I was administered a hearing test prior to seeing Dr. Chmiel. Obviously he didn't bother to look over the results. After he examined me, he said, Let's get you a hearing test and find out what's going on. Then, he flips through my chart and sees my test. Isn't it common procedure to take the hearing test and go off those results when examining the patient? I left with nothing

I would not recommend. Our son was supposed to have tonsils removed. It took them over a month JUST to call me back to schedule the surgery. After that nightmare..... we get a call 5 days before the surgery that they have to re-schedule which was going to delay for at least another month. No consideration from them that my wife and I already had taken off work. I will never use this place again for any of my children.
