Dr. Herrell is the best. I've been seeing him for twenty years with the utmost confidence in him and his ability to help me with prostate care.

Dr. Herrell's Physician Assistant
I went in to see Taylor Brewer, Dr. Herrell's Physical Assistant due to the fact I was in pain and Dr. Herrell was not available at the time. Taylor informed me that I had two small stones, one on the right side and one on the left side of my Kidney. Taylor stated in her opinion, the stones were not causing me pain. I explained to her that I've had several previous Kidney Stones and were aware of how they made me feel, which was nauseous and painful. When I asked her what caused the pain, she could not explain. After requesting to get an appointment with Dr. Herrell, she informed me that Dr. Herrell does surgery only. Taylor became agitated and further stated if you want him to remove the small stones, I can schedule an appointment for him. Taylor is the most unprofessional PA I have ever met. I do not recommend going to this PA for anything. She knows nothing about Kidney Stones and needs more training on how to treat patients.

I am alive today because of Dr. Herrell. I had a rare kidney cancer and he was able to diagnose and remove the kidney affected laparoscopically without any complications. As a matter of fact, I left the hospital after one day. He is funny, patient, and kind. I drove from Kentucky for treatment and follow-up appointments. It was worth every extra minute of travel. He is the best doctor I have ever been to see.

Dr. Herrell performed surgery for prostate cancer in May 2016 I can't judge the quality of the surgery, but I am having to undergo hormone and medications to combat a resurgence of the cancer as evidenced by an elevated PSA. My main complaint is with the operating "team" in that my "restraints" during the surgery caused numbness of both lower legs. It is a daily reminder of poor supervision and a cause of continuing anxiety.
