Long Journey!
Denial of Post Surgery Complications.January 2021 Doc Adam's performed a right foot calcaneal (heel bone) ostectomy & elected to reinforce tendon with an FHL transfer. I have had neuropathy (pain, numbness, tingling, stiffness) ever since the operation. I have been doing PT for the past 4 years 5 times a week: stretching, strengthening, swimming, etc. Doc Adam's post surgery appointments, had no answers or strategies to help me.I recently went to another doctor, who immediately conducted an EMG & Nerve Conduction Study. With the test results and my new doctor's team, we all decided to do a 'tarsal tunnel release'.I am now on the road to a better quality of life.Bottom Line: Not all doctor's have the same skill or compassion.

Amazing diagnostician
Dr. Adam has been amazing with diagnosing my 15 yo son’s 4 sports related leg/foot injuries over the past 1.5 years! She had expedited diagnostic imaging including MRI’s which has impressed me immensely! She is super caring and empathetic and I trust her 100%. We are blessed to have her has our orthopedist!

I had a full rupture of my achilles. Dr. Adam was fantastic from pre-op to post-op. She explained the procedure before surgery and was patient and helpful with all post-op visits. I am now 8 months out and back to sports. I am so thankful to Dr. Adam.

My visit was at best 5 minutes with no hands-on physical examination and a diagnosis of just stretch before exercising. Adams was very dismissive and very rushed. This was after her nurse insisting I needed a new x-ray although the disc in my hand was of an x-ray from the previous week. I refused. After an MRI, it was discovered I have a tear in my achilles along with two large bones spurs. So much for just stretch. I would recommend seeing a different doc.

Dr Adam repaired my 100% torn Achilles tendon. It's working like new and I'm able to resume all physical activities with no pain or limitations. Dr Adam is extremely caring and pleasant to deal with, in addition to being a competent surgeon.

I came to Dr. Adam with a severe ankle sprain and a history of chronic ankle sprains. She took the time to walk me through my MRI and show my which ligaments had ruptured and what healing had been done and where past injuries had occurred. She was methodical, took her time explaining everything and answering my questions, and very understanding and empathetic. After giving appropriate time for my injury to heal, we decided together that a stabilizing surgery was likely my best option to heal my injury and get back to my active lifestyle, as I am 25 and play recreational sports. She performed a brostrom-gould procedure on my ankle, and both she and her PA supported me through the recovery and answered all my questions with care and concern. I have been recovering beautifully, as Dr. Adam and her team performed the repair skillfully, and I am currently training for a half marathon after only 4.5 months post-op! Thank you Dr. Adam and team for helping me get back to my active lifestyle!

I went to see Dr Adam after seeing another doctor. I completely ruptured 2 ligaments and partially tore and third and doctors would alternate telling me my ankle was broken and not broken. She was able to see me on short notice, and was professional and courteous. Dr. Adam actually took the time to examine me and explain why they initially thought it was broken: apparently I broke the ankle (isolated avulsion fracture) and foot at an earlier time and didn’t know, but that had healed already, so we are treating just the ligament/ stability issues now. She changed the boot I had from the short one I was given by the ER that was giving me pressure bruises to a taller one that worked much better. What I liked most about her was that she took the time to explain what was going on and detailed a clear plan of recovery for me and my physical therapist to follow. I never felt too rushed with her and she makes sure everything is clear.

Dr. Adam is the absolute best. She saw me after I was being treated by another doctor for 10 weeks. I had a fracture and the other doctor was treating it with a boot. He said I was progressing slowly but okay. I was in terrible pain and went for a second opinion. Dr. Adam immediately sent me for an MRI and CAT scan after it appeared on the x-ray that my fracture was not healing but had actually gotten worse. I had surgery three days after my initial visit with her, and then went for 4 post ops. Dr. Adam was informative, compassionate and fabulous every step of the way. I recommend her to everyone I see.

Terrible experience. I, a 79-year-old woman who had fallen and fractured an ankle, was treated by Dr. Adam without regard for the time required for healing in an older person as compared to a younger individual. After having been referred to Dr. Adam by Urgent Care for a fracture diagnosed by X-ray, Dr. Adam advised me there was no fracture. Subsequently, that diagnosis was reversed...I was told by her assistant that there was a fracture after all. After wearing a stabilizer boot for a period, Dr, Adam recommended I exercise the ankle. I tried to ask if it wasn't too soon. Dr. Adam didn't allow me to express my concern, rudely and sharply declaring "LET ME FINISH!!," I was shocked and disturbed. I deeply regret not leaving her office immediately. Instead, I did as I told and, as a result, suffered significant increased, prolonged pain. Also, a second boot was prescribed for me that was so heavy, I could not use it. I did not return to Dr. Adam nor would I recommend her.

Exceptional doctor, caring, talented surgeon, amazing bedside manners and very warm and capable staff. Can’t recommend her highly enough! I broke my left ankle badly last winter. She performed surgery that included a plate and 6 screws. I am so grateful she was my doctor during this very challenging experience. I have recommended her many times since!

I regret allowing her to operate on me foot which is now 100 times worse. She ruined my quality of life. She didn’t listen to my complaints until it was too late. She documented after each visit “doing well”. She was always late by 30-45 minutes and blew me off.

Dr. Adam is i think one of the best orthopedic surgeons out there. she always takes her time and is extremely patient and genuinely nice. She also has a very friendly staff. Her Medical assistant i think her name is angelica? was so helpful as well. At one point i couldn’t bare weight and she helped me up on the table and was also patient as well, even though i was in so much pain. Thanks again Dr. Adam! will definitely recommend!

Extremely thorough and very down to earth. Dr Adam explained everything to my wife and I and answered any questions we had. She stayed as long as needed and wasn’t just rushing in and out to keep to a schedule. I had surgery about a week ago and everything could not have been better. The entire process was carried out exactly as described and nothing was a mystery - very reassuring. I’m expecting a full recovery and wouldn’t hesitate to see and use Dr Adam again should i need her.

I work in the healthcare field and have been around a lot of doctors and I can definitely say, without reservation, that Dr. Adam is one of the good ones. She genuinely cares about her patients. She takes time explaining the problem, walking you through your x-rays, and formulating a plan with your input, which I appreciate it. I would definitely recommend seeing Dr. Adam for your foot/ankle problem over a podiatrist. I was told I needed surgery but turns out I didn't, my ankle is doing great!

About 2 years ago I went to Dr. Adams for a bunion surgery. Long story short, she never removed the bunion and instead made a big cut from a big toe up. She also said that bunion removal will be a separate charge. I just have my bunion removed by another doctor who said, he was puzzled why she didn't do it in the first place. Plus the area was damaged because she left pieces of bones. She did a terrible job. Will never recommend her. Get a second opinion!

I am very happy I ended up in the capable and caring hands of Dr. Stephanie Adam when I fractured a bone in my foot. It was an unusual fracture that required particular care and attention. Dr. Adam was professional, empathetic, friendly, caring and genuinely concerned. She took the time to explain the injury which is very important to me. I highly recommend Dr. Adam for any foot/ankle injury...with zero reservation! Thanks Dr. Adam! Thanks also to PA Adam Fineman for the encouragement.

I was very unhappy with my visit, I was told by my regular orthopedist to make an appointment with Dr. Adam for sever osteoarthritis of both feet. I already had a MRI, she then requested a X-ray. After that I was told that I would either need surgery on each foot that would keep me completely non weight bearing for 3 months each! or a steroid injections (which don't work and she would refer me to someone else to do), or orthotics.

After falling and fracturing my ankle, the ER told me most likely I would just need a cast. Got an appointment very quickly with Dr. Adam who ordered additional tests to be sure. I am very glad she did. Other minor fractures along with cartilage damage rendered the ankle "unstable" putting me at risk for future injuries and arthritis. Surgery was performed at SMG Florham Park that week. I am very pleased with all of the care I have received during the entire process.
