I went to see Dr. Momper for a Women Wellness Exam. I was very clear about this when I made the appointment. When I arrived, I was met by her nurse who was rushed and unfriendly. As she stepped me through the first-time visit questions, including who my primary care physician is, she indicated that Momper is a family physician and was unclear why I wanted to see her. I said I wanted to see her for a women's wellness exam. After several uncomfortable minutes trying to explain myself while the nurse facially expressed her confusion, the nurse said Dr. Momper would be right in. After 5 minutes the nurse came back into the room and said that Momper wouldn't see me unless I agreed to make her my primary physician. I said, "I've never met Dr, Momper, so how could I make that decision today?" After a few seconds of silence I said, "So the doctor won't see me today if I don't commit to that?" The nurse responded, "Yes." I'm still in disbelief this happened.
