Dr. Stephanie Plummer, DO

5-6yrs ago I was driving a compact mini cooper and was hit head-on by a drunk driver at high speed. 50 breaks&fractures, 30 surgeries, an above knee amputated leg, and pelvis to T4 spinal fusion later…I know a little about physical pain and Dr to Patient interactions. Before I started seeing Dr Plummer at CNSA in late 2024 I had 2 previous long term “pain management” Drs and, not to besmirch them, Dr Plummer was the only one able to get me the needed relief, in the right joints & proper muscle groups, to allow me to walk and workout pain free….in a fraction of the treatments as her predecessors. This gifted me the ability to restrengthen Myself so I’ll need less and less treatments in the future. All I wanted was a chance to succeed, and i got that. She is NOT a Dr who will give you “drive-by treatment” and be gone before you can even remember the questions you wanted to ask. Dr Plummer, Really Honestly Cares! I love that Dr. Plummer comes in, sits down and listens. When you deal with chronic pain, having someone that understands that not all pain can be be helped by just shoving meds down a patients throat is a breath of fresh air. Dr. Plummer has taken the time to get to know me and my entire pain, life situation. Thus, helping her make better recommendations for my pain therapy and giving me some enjoyment in life I'd given up on.If you are trying to get out of the medical blender of just going in circles with your pain and or meds, please make a visit with her and see the difference.

Dr. Plummer listened to my synopsis of why I was seeing her, with genuine concern for finding the best way(s) to help me. She succinctly and impactfully evaluated my condition, answering questions with a genuine desire to communicate how my body was affected. Kudos for extra sensitivity regarding pain levels, with focus on the best practices to reduce pain and discomfort. We also reviewed and discussed several of my scans so I could have a well-rounded picture of my condition. This was quite important. It is a pleasure to work with such a deeply caring physician who shows great respect for and sensitivity to the medical needs of her patients.

The office staff are very pleasant and efficient. I've never had to wait for a long time. Dr. Plummer is meticulous in her exam, she reviewed previous xrays with me, showing me the films on her computer. She is courteous and answers any questions which I have. She explains her recommendations and treatments.

I met Dr. Plummer for an initial appointment. She was extremely pleasant and easy to talk to. She gave me a thorough examination and I booked a follow up appointment to continue treatment for the numbness I’m experiencing in my fingers.

I went to Dr Plummer for sciatic pain. She read my MRI and explained what she saw. We decided on a plan that would help me. She is easy to talk to and answered all my questions.

Dr. Plummer is an effective listener and wonderful physician. She answered all my questions, then offered her professional opinion and allowed me to weigh in on the best decision to treat me. I was given the opportunity to to ask additional questions. She didn’t rush me and was attentive to my concerns. My 1st visit was so amazing. I went in unable to move my left arm. When I explained what had been happening she recommended to inject me in a different location than originally scheduled. Within minutes I was able to move my arm without pain or discomfort. 2nd visit problem resurfaced and she made recommendations for further treatment and testing. I totally trust her with her professional opinion and guidance. She is a consummate professional that I would highly recommend to anyone. One additional thing she didn’t offer to shove a lot of medication down my throat. I am so pleased to have her on my side.

I have nothing but good things to say about the team at Carolina Neurosurgery and Spine. The administrative and nursing staff is friendly and helpful. Dr. Plummer was excellent, diagnosed my issue (spinal), explained the diagnoses thoroughly including “translating” some/most of the medical language. Dr. Plummer advised my options, explaining each one, and provided a recommendation on next steps. Similar to all the staff Dr. Plummer was friendly and approachable.
