Dr. Stephen Gutu, MD

I wanted to have high hopes for this doctor, but it's been 6 weeks since my son was seen by this doctor and told that the Dr. would send a referral through for my son to have an MRI and nothing has been sent though at all. I followed up with the doctor twice. The first call was ignored and never responded to. The second resulted in an email from the doctor saying that he had a lot of referrals he was working on. I called insurance 3 weeks later to see if the had been contacted to give pre-approval and nothing had been submitted to them at all. We are going to go somewhere else. Beware, this doctor may have sooner appointments available, but it's not worth it if you have to wait over a month for the doctor to do what he says he's going to do.

I wish there were more doctors like Dr. Gutu! He has done wonders with our daughter. He is very thorough and wants to help eliminate the problem, not just medicate the problem. He has taught us a lot about migraines and preventing them. He is super nice and wants to know his patient and their family. Thank you very much Dr. Gutu!

We were thrilled to find Dr. Gutu's new location this morning: pedneurods.com Our daughter has been a patient of Dr. Gutu's for about 4 years. He has been amazing! Since the beginning, he has understood her medical needs and has taken the time to know her interests and beliefs. His bedside manner put her (and us) at ease. He found a great fit for her meds, and we've really appreciated his encouragement throughout this journey.

Dr.Gutu gave me my children back. My son was leaving a little bit each time he had a seizure. He was having multiple a day. Gutu didn't stop till we had them under control. He did the same thing with my daughter and her migraines. She started having at early age. Kids misses him so glad he got ahold of me so he can start seeing them again. My husband and I love and trust him with our children.

Dr Gutu is such a nice, dedicated and knowledgeable pediatric neurologist. He does whatever he can to reach his patients & explain things so everyone understands the diagnosis, test results and treatment plan options. His honesty is refreshing and provided peace of mind knowing the patient was his #1 priority! **Would really love to know where he is practicing at now, my son misses him & is now guarded around his new doctor. This diagnosis was scary and finding a great doctor was a tremendous blessing & then to lose that so soon was tough.**

Dr. Gutu is an amazing doctor we left Iowa city and with in 5 minutes of talking with him he made my child at ease and totally understood what was going on with her!!! Iowa city couldn't even do that I. The year and half they had her there !! WE WANT TO FOLLOW DR. GUTU WE NEEEEEED TO KNOW WHERE HE WENT !!!! MY DAUGHTER ONLY WANTS HIM !!! Shes scared of starting over with another doctor who might be rude she wants her sweet Dr. Who shows how much he makes kids at ease !!!

Dr. Gutu has been tremendous in helping my daughter with migraines. So kind and took all of the time we needed. He explained everything so my daughter understood and could help be in control of her own symptoms. Best doctor ever! Need to know where is is now! Left Blank Hospital and would love to follow!

Dr.Gutu is very thorough and does a lot of diagnostics when needed. He is kind to children and talks to and with them rather than around them. He answers all my questions about my child's condition.

With in minutes of walking in the door he made up his mind about my diagnosis. Then proceeded not to listen to a word I said. When I started saying something he disagreed with he would hum and tap his pen ignoring me. He then insisted my headaches were caused by foods I don’t eat. I went back for a follow up which I had pushed back because I dreaded going back. He then yelled at me reprimanding me for pushing back the appointment. I then left and would never go back to that rude arrogant man.
