Dr. Stephen Monnig, MD

Went to Dr monnig after passing blood in urine dec 2023. He did a DRE prostate was swollen recommended a PSA test on Feb 28 2024 (2 months later). I went to my family Dr in Jan 2024 who immediately did a psa it came back 12.4. Back to Dr monnig for a MRI,biopsy and pet scan. Positive for cancer. I asked Dr monnig to order a Prolaris test which he did however the lab needed a form faxed to them to complete test cannot get his office to fax the form.The lab has called his office twice requesting it and I have called and sent messages multiple times to no avail. I needed lab results for a 2nd opinion its been 3 weeks getting this test done and still not finished. Dr monnig office has been very slow with results the past 4 months I have been a patient but this is ridiculous.

Please do not go to this man he's uncaring. Had surgery, a week later things were worse than before. When I went for recheck he said well you are right its worse than before and said,sorry it didn't work and literally walked out the door. Three months later ,new Dr .who said I have never seen anything like this. Total do over with major repairs.

Had my first kidney stone on a friday, after going to ER (3) times in (4) days and being referred to an absent urologist in Georgetown, Dr. Monnig agreed to see me on short notice. Once he saw/spoke with my wife and myself he freed himself up and performed the procedure 2hrs later. He absolutely did not have to do that... but he did. The stone had not moved in 5 days and would have caused major issues if not treated immediately. That is the true definition of a good doctor as well as a damn good human being. I cannot thank him enough. I would highly recommend this urologist. Thanks again Dr. Monnig!

I've been a patient of Dr. Monnig for several years now. He's truly concerned about my health and well being. He calls himself to inform me of test results etc... Not many of these guys (or gals) left in this day and time! Exceptional!!!

Went to see Dr Monnig for urinary incontinence. Had urinary urgency & frequency issues Dr Monnig asked me a few questions concerning my issues & did a urine test. He recommended having a procedure without giving me Urodynamic testing.Walking out of his office,I felt like my issues had not been thoroughly examined.I went to see another urologist for a 2nd opinion who recommended the Urodynamic testing.This gave me a thorough scope of my issues and helped in determining what procedure was needed.
