Dr. Stephen Morimoto, DDS

This is not a review about Dr. Morimoto personally, this is in regards to improper billing practices at the office. Be very careful with your billing at this facility. They lied to me several times about submitting preapproval to my dental insurance to try to get me to pay out of pocket. People should always check with their dental insurance to prevent improper billing. I was told during prescreening visit that this office would submit for preapproval for dental work with my dental insurance. Then was called the day before scheduled work and told that my insurance was not covering costs. I contacted my dental insurance and they verified that nothing had been submitted to them. Called the office on a three way call with my dental insurance and the billing department changed their story and said that they just knew and had never told me that were going to submit preapproval. On what planet does that make any sense? Any dental work at any office would have to be submitted to dental insurance regardless, but they lied twice. Once during the pre-screen, then during the call to confirm appt the day prior to the work. This is a shame because I heard from several sources that Dr. Morimoto is the kindest person and a wonderful oral surgeon. He had been highly recommended by my dental office and several friends. I have reached out to the dentist to discuss these issues and am still waiting to hear back. UPDATE: Spoke with Dr. Morimoto several times. He admitted that the pre-approval was in the system but never sent. He also confirmed the dishonesty of the billing dept. Currently looking for new oral surgeon.

My appointment with Dr. Morimoto could not have gone any better. He performed a thorough exam and explained his findings. Although I was a bit nervous, he put me completely at ease. He outlined a plan, set up a follow up appointment and discussed future options. Very professional and friendly!

Dr Morimoto is excellent professional caring oral surgeon. Manages pain well and does personal call back afterwards. He is highly recommended I have had two implants and an extraction all went very well!
