Cold Physician
Samuelson saw our adolescent son for years for his ADHD, anxiety and some depression. Unfortunately, our son ended up abusing alcohol and marijuana to self-medicate his anxiety and depression. After more than 2 years clean and sober and now in college, he began seeing Samuelson again, hoping to get treatment for his anxiety and ADHD. He overslept and missed an appointment. Again, he’s ADHD. He paid the missed appointment fee and called and apologized. The following week, he received a form letter that he was being dropped as a patient after missing “several” appointments. He was crushed. He missed one. He was so excited to work with this doctor in his sober life, after the journey they shared. Really cold.

Dr. Samuelson
Dr. Samuelson is one of the most compassionate, caring Doctor’s I’ve ever met. God has truly blessed me with trusting him with my care. I would refer anyone to him. He had my situation figured out in no time. I am praying they have a counselor on staff for my daughter as well. I’m a believer and there’s no way I could have picked a better Doctor. I didn’t even read his reviews until hours before my appointment, which is highly unusual for me but life is crazy right now. I can’t understand why anyone would leave a bad review. I don’t usually leave reviews but when care is exceptional, I have to because it’s not easy to find in any field these days. You cannot go wrong with this office. The entire staff that I’ve talked to so far has been amazing.

Samuelson is great doc. I have had him as a psychiatrist for over 5 years. However, I will say that sometimes he can be hard to be honest with. One time I admitted to frequently smoking marijuana and he threatened to stop seeing me as a patient. I understand that marijuana can negatively interact with certain medications, but that sort of created an environment where I am hesitant to disclose all the information. He has also attributed many of my symptoms to a disorder that I (along with my therapist) do not believe I have. However, I do want to stress that I feel like he genuinely cares about his patients and he has really saved me multiple times.

From my first visit, when I was in so much emotional and mental agony and terror, Dr Samuelson believed my pain and understood my symptoms in a way I've never experienced. He listened and asked questions in a genuinely compassionate manner and made me feel safe and validated. He told me that he thought he could help me and explained how the treatment he was prescribing would be different than what had been tried before and what to expect in terminology that I could understand. He was right, he absolutely did help me and has remained my provider for years. At this time, he is providing services via Telehealth and I continue to receive the same knowledgeable, compassionate, and dedicated service. Dr. Samuelson is truly a lifesaver and I continue to sing his praises.

My daughter was suffering from depression/anxiety and self harming behavior. Dr. Samuelson listened carefully as she described her symptoms. He described what he was recommending clearly and used good examples to illustrate what he was talking about. He has a very calming demeanor. It has taken a while for the correct regiment of medicines and therapy to help her become stabilized but my daughter is doing very well now. Dr. Samuelson has been very pleasant to work with.

Extremely arrogant. Prefers to medicate rather than treat the actual issue. Incorrectly diagnosed a particular patient I know. Refuses to obtain new knowledge from others in the field. Continued to prescribed a medication that is unhealthy for this particular patient.

The receptionist forgot to cancel an appointment of mine becauseI was busy with work. I missed the appointment despite requesting a rescheduling 48 hours in advanced. Samuelson decided to cancel me as a patient for missing this visit even though we called and explained the situation. He is in it for the money and not for the health of his patients.

Dr Samuelson saved my life! I had seen other psychiatrist an got very little help with my diagnosis. Dr Samuelson was able to get me stabilized and I have never been more pleased. He has treated me with respect and compassion. When my condition changes which is normal for my diagnosis he has always been available to help me become stable again. He has been a life saver for me and my family . I would recommend him to anyone !

Having been to a psychiatrist before (not helpful) finding Dr. Samuelson was a literal Godsend. My daughter unfortunately inherited my condition and has been seeing a different child psychiatrist for a year with major frustration on my part as to his being up to date on current options for treatment. I'm hopeful Dr. Samuelson will also begin seeing her- he just knows his stuff. So glad we found him!
