Inhuman, cruel. Negative 0 stars
Shaben owns AUNC urology. Hes also asst director of urology at UNC. Like other reviews he yields his influence to contril care and eliminate any liability as owner, not dr. Conflict of interest everywhere.

Unsatisfactory
I saw Dr Shaban yearly for my prostate. My old family Dr. felt something and since my grandfather died of prostate cancer I saw Dr. Shaban yearly. At first Dr Shabin was thorough, checking PSA and doing an exam. After he moved to the current mega location, his care changed, visits were short, not more than five minutes, only checking PSA and never doing a physical exam. On a recent visit I questioned this. The next year, since my PSA had been steady at around 1.5 he said he didn't need to see me anymore, and again no exam. Only Four months later, during an annual physical, I related this to my doctor. He did an exam and felt something. With further testing cancer was found. Thankfully it had not spread outside the prostate. PSA is a tool to be used with a digital exam and family history. Apparently Dr Shabin favors PSA. If I had listened to him my cancer may had spread before being discovered. There are much better choices of Urologists than Dr. Shabin. This is my experience only.

Something went wrong during surgical procedure with this doctor. Doctor sent me home immediately after I woke up from anesthesia, despite problems (denied me to spend night in hospital). Bleeding and pain when got home. Then, I decided to find another doctor, but Dr. Shaban somehow found out about my appointment & called new doctor to intervene. An unprofessional, brutally unsympathetic, money hungry, terrible doctor.
