Factory doctor. No people skills. He told us endoscopy procedure would take 20 mins. We were at the hospital for 7 hours. He doesn't even talk to or acknowledge his patients or waiting family members before or after endoscopy procedure. His office staff is horrible. His hospital department staff even worse. Hospital Patient Experience department is a joke. I recommend you look for someone else if you want "care'.

I was diagnosed with early stage pancreatic cancer by my Gastroenterologist and was told Dr Steinberg was the best to perform the Entroscopical ultrasound biopsy and would guide me thru his super doctors. I never got to get an appt! They never returned any of my 15 phone calls and my Referring Gastroenterologist called too. According to the reviews he can walk on water and raise Lazarus but If you can’t an appointment he’s useless. Sham on him!

Great doctor. Referred by another gastro doctor. He was a pleasure, and could take out serrated polyps. He was a pleasure.

This Doctor really knows his stuff. Getting and appointment is almost a pleasure. Dr. Steinberg's staff is an extension of himself, knowing his thoughts and intentions intuitively.

A horrible experience I had family for 4 days admitted in the hospital and Dr Steinberg consulted and never came to see the my family member at all who by the way is supposed to have surgery on Tuesday by him. Called many time to the staff at Boca hospital to see if they could get the doctor. After 4 days he decided as to call back and say discharge patient really don’t even come in to see him wow what a horrible doctor

I would tap negative stars if I could. My wife was referred to him and we want to have the doctor that referred him investigated. We've never seem a more unprofessional staff and the Dr was rude and dismissive. Didn't care what you said on any level. Please do yourself a favor and stay far away from this guy and his staff of unbelievably rude people.

I was diagnosed with esophageal CANCER and told I needed my esophagus removed, but there was a doctor that might help, Dr. Steinberg. I almost didn't go because of negative ratings. I looked closer- "my colon prep didn't work"? "he wouldn't do a procedure..said I needed psychiatric help"? "I had to wait to see him"?.... I went; I had to wait some; he explained everything in detail to me and to my wife. Took out the cancer through a scope. CURED. kept my esophagus. I owe my life...

I read the last 2 reviews ..wow.; one complaining that a doctor didn't think they needed an expensive, invasive test; another because they couldn't take a colon prep? I got jaundiced from a pancreas "lesion". Appointment with Steinberg in 2 days; procedure to diagnose cancer and fix the jaundice two day later; detailed discussion- including my family- got me to a great surgeon --all within a week. how I would have gotten through without him? Colon prep? wish that were my problem

Referred by GI w multiple abnormal hepitabiliary scans. Spent 3 hrs in waiting room. 1st thing he said is he doesnt know why Im there because I dont need ERCP.. as if all he does is ERCP and Im supposed to know. Then immediately dxs me with a psychosomatic anxiety disorder, says 'you need help' and to move on my with my life. Sends me away after 5 mins to suffer with no exam, labs, dx, tx, or plan. Later on my other docs found EPI and Lyme. Absolutely disgusted w his negligence and disrespect.

He came highly recommended (by a doctor we respect), so I assume he is a good clinician, BUT....the doctor's prescribed prep failed BOTH my wife and I. At our post-op consult, he made it very clear that he refused to accept responsibility for the prep procedure, attempting to blame the referring physician for choosing the prep (a flat out lie). This text block is way too short, but I wouldn't let him work on my dog.

Although Dr. Steinberg has an impressive background, his lack of communication with my husband led to very serious medical problems. He barely gave us any of his time, ran away quickly when we wanted to ask him questions, confused us with another patient and forgot the procedure my husband was to have with him. We decided to not return to him at a time when my husband's esophageal cancer might have been detected earlier, but was, when we went to Cleveland Clinic where he was operated on.

He runs significantly late even as long as 2-3 hours., and then spends little time with his patients. He fails to listen or answer questions and gives no insight into what to expect from a given procedure. He fails to project any kind of interest or empathy for his patients.
