Condescending
I was under Weinribs care for 2 yrs and the 2 times I spoke to him directly he was condescending. He did not discuss my health with me, he told me how I was going to continue my care. When I brought up issues with my medications side effects I was told that 'some people can be dramatic about side effects. It's not a concern ' Anyone female or under the age of 50 seems to be treated as a child by this doctor. Do not recommend.

A great medical resource for diabetics!
I have been a patient of Dr. Weinrib for approximately 16 years. He treats me principally for type 1 Diabetes. Based on his many years of treatment of me, I have the utmost confidence in his ability. He is also a caring individual who takes time to hear from the patient. I have recommended him to many individuals, including friends and family, without hesitation. Dr. Weinrib exemplifies what a physician should be.

We did a telephone call and he stayed on the phone with me for a long time, He explain my thyroid issues very well, gave me advice to follow, I was very impressed and pleased with the results that he told me, especially having never met me. He also told me if I had any more problems or questions to contact him, for farther instructions.

Hands down one of the best endocrinologists that I've ever met. Very knowledgeable, willing to do extra paperwork to get authorization for meds that his patients need, willing to call patients and update them on their labs even when the office has already closed. He definitely goes the distance to make sure his patients are taken care of. In just six months, he managed to get my mom's Hgb A1C from 13 to 8 - and continues to work hard to make sure that we're able to get it completely under control. Everyone, from his NP to his nurses and front office staff, have been very compassionate, understanding, and efficient with their care and communication. It's rare to find practices like this that actually care about their patients and want to help them manage their conditions the best that they can. I would absolutely recommend him to those who are struggling to manage their diabetes, or are currently with a doctor who isn't doing it properly. They are truly one of the best.

One Star Rating: Past 2 yrs felt very shamed w/ judgmental comparative comments. SW appears defensive and arrogant in demeanor. He also felt blood labs my previous Endo doc did weren't important to continue. I displayed symptoms of diabetes that were ignored after beginning Synthroid with him to treat my Hashi's. I did blood labs through another MD & discovered I had diabetes & changed Doctors. I do not recommend him. Shaming is harm and something MD's are taught in medical school not to d

My experience was very negative. I had terrible reactions to the treatment I received, I felt he was condescending and wanted to blame me. If he had listened to me then I feel my serious illness would have diagnosed much sooner. NOT every patient is a text book case, a Dr needs to listen and think outside the box. My worst experience with a Dr.

Finally, a doctor who listens to me and actually takes the time to call me himself to discuss the results. He is willing to think creatively about etiology.

One of the best diabetic doctor's I have had. Smart. Attentive. Caring. Truly a professional who enjoys his work and his patience. I unfortunately moved away from Asheville, so I am no longer in his care. I would recommend him strongly.
