Excellent Dr. And Surgeon
Dr. Bailey is one of the best Dr's I've ever had. He is thorough, gracious, kind, and has great empathy. To explain my spinal condition is too much to write. (I can't speak that language). He's clearly excellent in his fields. He and his team worked 7 hours on my back. He was very thorough and efficient. The outcome, is wonderful. I walked in bent over. I couldn't walk to where I needed to be. The nurse wheeled me into the prep area. I went into the operating roomed. The anesthesiologist assured me that I would not feel pain, ( a fear of mine ). I woke up and was able to walk upright with my cane. (The hospital staff were wonderful too). I read what all Dr. Bailey did while he was operating on my back. I trust Dr. Bailey. He made sure I was not in pain during my recuperation. I'll say it again I TRUST DR. BAILEY. He will be great working with you as well.

New lease on Life!!
I just recently had 3 levels reconstructed in my neck by Dr. Steven Bailey. He absolutely did an amazing job!! I literally have a changed life thanks to surgery!! I was in pain everyday all day and couldn’t take it anymore. I had done epidurals for years (like 20yrs).. This surgery has given me new hope to be and do what I want, not what I’m limited to because physically I can’t function and enjoy life daily!! Thanks Dr. Bailey!!!!

Excellent Surgeon!
Had severe leg pain. After reviewing the MRI Dr. Bailey identified a herniated disc at L2-L3. He explained everything very well. Had surgery Lumbar Discectomy Laminectomy in SEP 2023. Results were better than expected. Pain was gone when I woke up after surgery and I was back to 100% within a month. I continue to highly recommend him to everyone.

Very satisfied
Telehealth
I believe Dr Bailey was at the right place at the right time. I was not even a patient of his at the time when he was asked to reviewed my MRI, and with his medical and surgical knowledge, He made his recommendations and worked me into his busy schedule for a 10 hr neck surgery. I am grateful to Dr Bailey and his staff for extending the quality of my life, and getting me through a difficult time. I would recommend them to everyone!

Dr. Bailey has magical hands.
Because of a childhood back injury. I started dragging my right leg in March of 2015 and did not want back surgery because of buddies who have had back surgeries that didn’t fair well. It got so bad that I literally was headed to a wheelchair when I decided to see Dr. Bailey. He assured me that this could be taken care of with a back fusion and with some reluctance I went with it. Wow. I don’t know what else to say except for wow. The man is amazing. It’s been 5 months since I had the surgery and I’m doing great. I’m working along side 30 year olds in hay fields and back to running my small farm. And I only wish I would have seen Dr Bailey earlier. I literally suffered from March 2015 till February 2023. Dr Bailey did an amazing thing. Thanks Doc.

From pre-op through surgery and recovery, Dr. Steven Bailey and Mayfield Brain and Spine were excellent. Everything was explained well, appointments were on time, and everyone was friendly and professional. I had C4, C5, & C6 fused due to numbness and weakness in left arm. Results were great. Getting strength back in arm still - 6 months post op.

Highly recommend Dr. Bailey!
Dr. Bailey did spinal fusion on me for a slipped disk that was cutting into my spinal cord. From the beginning him and his staff answered all my questions, and made me a lot more comfortable with having spinal fusion. Both before and after. Shoutout to his assistant Chrissy, she got any questions or issues before and after answered. Great Physical Therapy Department also.

Spinal Fusion L5 S1
I went to Dr. Bailey after suffering for over two years from progressively worsening nerve pain. I worked with two separate physical therapists for a total of six months. When the pain started, I was extremely active--attending yoga classes 4-6 times per week. Gradually, I became unable to practice at all. Walking became difficult. Climbing stairs was nearly impossible. What made the situation worse is that I felt no one was listening to me, including the orthopedic surgeon I visited in Knoxville who suggested I "live with it." At Mayfield Brain and Spine, I was impressed by the efficiently run office. I never had to wait to be seen. Dr. Bailey and his nurse practitioner actually listened and carefully diagnosed my problem. The surgery went smoothly. Four months out, I am recovering nicely. I think Dr. Bailey and his staff set the gold standard for medical practices, and, unfortunately, I know because I've been to a lot of them.

Dr Bailey and Mayfield are the Best
I had a spinal fusion 9/29/22. I feel great. No more pain in my back and legs. Dr Bailey is an excellent surgeon. I am thrilled that I was able to get in to see him. The entire process at Mayfield is a wonderful experience. Appointment making, communication, follow up, etc. - all completed professionally and in a very nice, friendly manner. I also really appreciate the efficency and kindness of the PT gang. I am beyond satisfied with Dr Bailey and the entire team.

Dr Bailey performed a laminectomy in 2008 on my lumbar. He recommended this surgery for pain in my lumbar and pain in leg. After surgery I have been able to run, play golf and enjoy my grandkids now for 14 years. Recently I had a brain scan and and was diagnosed with herniated disc in my cervical. Dr Bailey performed anterior cervical discentomy and fusion in November and this surgery restored feeling in my hands and shoulder. I highly recommend Dr Bailey as a neurosurgeon who is caring and highly professional.
