Dr. Steven Barna, MD

Ten years ago I went to Dr Barna with extreme back pain. He did a couple spinal blocks and I am now celebrating 10 years with no back pain. I cannot thank him enough for giving me my life back.

I saw Dr Barna for Facet syndrome in 2016. I was in severe pain. Dr. Barna was very clear about what he needed to do and we scheduled my surgery immediately. My surgery went exactly as he said and it went well. I had residual inflammation (an underlying condition) and had to come in for a recheck to get it under control. Again Dr. Barna knew immediately what was wrong with me and explained what was happening and resolved the issue quickly. Dr. Barna is a great doctor. His education, experience and reputation speak for themselves but this man gave me my life back, truly! I am due for surgery again as the nerves have grown back and have come here to find him to do my next surgery. He is a God send!

Before my visit with Dr Barna I was in despair and terrible pain! As a 72 year old with multiple health issues, and having experienced way to many specialists, I could almost consider myself as an expert at rating doctors!! Dr. Barna is a very professional, 5 star, intelligent, concerned, caring, interacting, and the very best specialist I have had the honor being a patient of!! He took the time to discuss my issues and previous experiences. He then took the time to explain his diagnosis and what options were available medically, economically and potentially the possible results of each. The procedures that Medicare required were discussed, agreed upon, and undertaken. Then a Radiofrequency ablation (rhizotomy) facet joint procedure was performed. He had explained before that it would possibly last close to a year, which it did. Then as allowed the second procedure was done with fantastic results again. The unbearable pain which I endured for so many years is completely gone.

Excellent physician. Every time I get up I thank Dr. Barna because the pain is gone. Sometimes I find myself anticipating pain and if you're reading this you probably know what I mean, and then when their isn't any I'm so happy. I lived with pain for so many years and never thought this would happen. This is a doctor I will and do recommend to everyone! We are so lucky to have him in Tampa! Ten stars!

I was in a great deal of pain and Florida Orthopedics was able to figure out why. I started with steroid shots that didn't last long for me. Dr. Barna did nerve ablations and it worked great for me. I was comfortable during the procedure. I was sore for the first few weeks and I took it slow, but the pain that made me not want to get out of bed was gone. It's a tremendous relief to be out of pain. Dr. Barna is an outstanding doctor.

Dr. Barna went into great detail to explain my initial MRI. He never discounted/disregard my issue and I really appreciated it. His concern led to additional scans of the surrounding area of my moderate to severe pain. A correlating issue between the thoracic and cervical spine was identified. These next few days/weeks will only tell but , I feel comfortable and confident with his approach. His entire office staff (S/N Tampa Offices) have been nothing short of professional and courteous.

Dr. Barna is amazing... and that isn’t hyperbole. If there were more than five stars, I’d award them all to him. He took care of a cervical spine issue for me in 2016, which greatly improved my quality of life, so when I injured my lower back, I knew I wanted Dr. Barna to treat me. He took time to explain the MRI results to me and to recommend a course of action that put my mind to rest. He is compassionate and caring. The staff is great, too! I suffered from lower back pain from herniated /torn discs and was referred to Dr. Barna to seek treatment options and relief from the pain. Dr. Barna is fantastic I am very pleased I am under his care for my lower back. He was very detailed in his analysis and review of my X-Rays and MRI to determine cause of the pain, and he really took the time to explain treatment options and best course of action based on my condition. I would confidently recommend Dr. Barna to family and friends.

Due to my severe back pain, I've previously had two 2 other doctors perform a Radiofrequency Ablation of my L Spine area which were lasting 2 months and with the other doctor barely a month. Dr. Barna treated me with a bi-lateral approach of of the lower L area of the pine instead of just 1 side like other doctors who would perform the left one week and return for the right in another week It's been 7 months since my bilateral lower L Spine treatment of the Radio Frquency Ablation. I’ve seen many doctors over the last 30+ years dealing with neck pain from degeneration. Just had the best 4 continuous months of pain-free living in decades after Dr. Barna did my injections on December 28, 2017. Called Dr. Barna because they’ve now worn off... and they got me back in and I’m scheduled for another round in 2 weeks. Great doc and great office!! Can’t say enough about how happy I am with them!

Dr Barna is very kind and understanding of what my issues have been and discussing what options are available instead of saying just do this or that. We have a good dialogue about what I am experiencing with my back pain and he’s always positive in giving me what he thinks will resolve my issue and doesn’t want to cut me open immediately as some doctors like to do.

Dr. Barna has been treating my lower back. An exceptional and professional doctor. He has been very attentive and shows concern to reach a solution for my back pain. One important thing is that he takes the time to listen to me. I love his office staff, especially Carlos, very kind and helpful.

Dr. Barna changed my life. My first visit I was as really nervous. He took the time to explain what was my issue and gave me various treatment options. Once we decided in a procedured we move forward and I felt FANTASTIC. After treatment he called to make sure I was ok and a few months later the follow up was great. He exceeded my expectations. I am 69 years old and have been running for 35 years. In 2010 I started having cramps and spasms from the buttocks down my leg and groin. I have had 2 back surgeries 2013 and 2015 with little relief. Today Dr. Barna was very informative explaining everything and he really listened and understood my condition . He injected my piriformis muscle in my buttocks with steroids, and i had immediate relief.. How long will it last not sure but for now I am grateful for Dr. Barna’s expertise
