Dr. Steven Kaneshiro, MD

I saw Dr. Kaneshiro for an Industrial Injury rating. He is not involved in any orthopedic surgical procedures at this time. He is now known for his participation in Worker's Compensation IME reports. (Independent Medical Exams) He exclusively does these costly evaluations for the State of Hawaii DLIR-DCD H.R.S, 386. His reports are weighted heavily in favor of representing the employer & insurance companies and do not benefit the injured worker. He said I was ready to go back to work, but my own surgeon did the necessary surgery anyway. Although he has a Board Certification which expires in 2022; he is not going to assist his patients with any surgical opinions or any viable intervention in medical care. His decision in choosing this direction instead of using his education, experience and skills as a reputable orthopedic surgeon are very disappointing. If you were sent to him by your employer, you should immediately question that referral or request a another provider.
